export to youtube quality and 1920 x 800 aspect ratio

Hello,

After many months of procrastination, I'v finally come to the final part of my project where I need to upload it to youtube.

In the produce window of PD there is the option for online export to youtube directly.
1920 x 1080 / 30p and 60p are available but the original clip that I modified is 23,976 p
So I assume I would get better quality if I export it to my pc first in 23,976 and then manually upload it on youtube.

I should produce it as a H.264 AVC; MP4 ? Is the average bitrate 4567 ? deblocking ? dynamic gop ?

Here is the MediaInfo from the original file:

I would also like to have it in 1920 x 800 just as the original file.

I tried to follow the guidelines of Pepsiman in his youtube video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOpCKvWB5RU&list=WL&index=8&t=0s

But I am confused. I tried to shortcut and change the aspect ratio (changed 1080 to 800) in the profile.ini but that did not work.

To be clear I need to keep the video as it is and remove the horizontal black bars which would bring it from 1920x1080 to 1920x800. I dont want to resize 1920x1080 to 1920x800 as this will just keep the black bars in.

thanks all

Actually the original video is 1920x800 so technically it's PD who put the black bars so I just want to produce it without those.

garbage in garbage out...

your bitrate for 1920x800 is around 4.8Mb/sec, Youtube will tear that son of gun to nothing!
me, 1920x800 FHD bitrate is around 44 Mb/sec. normal bitrate CL community forum members suggest around 17 Mb/sec...
higher the bitrate more detail and sharpness...

my suggestions will be upload something similar to video that you'll be uploading and see if that's acceptable to you.

I followed the instructions. The final video now has both vertical and horizontal bars.

Maybe this is because the original file is 1920x800 and I have to use different settings than in your sample ?

no, my friend.
your borderless tutorial starts approx. at 14:47 to 15:47.
since you're not changing anything so even SVRT should work!

ensure you've created and modified Profile.ini
back in the workspace, make sure it is 16:9
go to produce, choose your custom profile and create!
upload to Youtube. end.

note:
first, beginning of my tutorial for creating(2.35:1) bordered video, 08:28-14:46.
second, 14:47-15:47, is for creating(21:9) borderless...
third, 15:48-17:50, is summary and settings for MPC-HC and DivX player.

once you've learned to modify the Profile.ini then you can create bordered or borderless 2.35:1, 21:9 or 2.4:1 aspect ratio videos at your leisure.
CL should implement this!!! but they haven't for...

pay attention to second part. once you get it, it's so easy you'll smack your forehead and say i wish i had a v8 juice!
or even a cave man can do it! ^^

I was following the first part thinking that this is what I needed.

I now did the second part but it does seem that horizontal black bars remain. It shows differently than the original 1920x800 video in VLC.

The instructions are very simple. Either I need other settings for what I want or monitors/ programs recognize it as 21:9.

I don’t understand how why the second part would benefit me.. I have an original video of 1920x800 and I want to keep it 1920x800 otherwise fixed black bars are added from PD

i assumed you wanted to upload borderless 2.4:1 aspect ratio videos to youtube.
And, it seems like your VLC player isn't displaying correct aspect ratio videos or your original videos does contain horizontal bars...

attach a short sample 2.4:1 ratio video and i'll post back to you.

better yet.
here's an example of borderless HD 2.4:1 aspect ratio videos. see if your VLC player displays correct aspect ratio. if displays top/bpttom or r/l bars then your player isn't set up correctly.

Your sample is completely borderless.

I don't understand, if it's really 2.4:1 am I not supposed to see black bars as my monitor is not 2.4:1. On the display settings my desktop resolution is set to 1920x1080 (recommended).

1920/1080= 1,77
1920/800= 2,4

How come I don't see horizontal black bars when in fullscreen on your sample ?

I do see horizontal black bars when in fullscreen on my original video.. but when I reduce the height of the window it only starts shrinking when the black bars are gone.

Hi FROMNOW -

If you're using Pepsiman's sample in VLC Player, you need to set the aspect ratio to 2.39:1, like this...

If the player is set to the default AR, it will look quite different...

Cheers - Tony

The original video on default looks different than the producefromnow sample on default in VLC.. So they must be different.
If I change the setting it only looks different but I want to know how it will look for people when watching on youtube. Youtube recommends to post videos without black bars.

I uploaded a short sample of my project that I modified with the guidelines in pepsiman's youtube tutorial.
(The second part: vizio 21x9)

http://www.filedropper.com/modifiedproduce21x9

21/9= 2,33
2560/1080= 2,37
1920/800= 2,4

I notice the video is a little bit stretched. If I use the same aspect ratio as the original this will not happen ?

yes. don't be afraid to experiment... if it messes up then, without restarting the PD, delete or remodify the profile.ini file!

Quote ... I notice the video is a little bit stretched...

my tutorial is from 16:9 aspect ratio to 2.35:1, 21:9, or 2.4:1 etc. so you'll notice little stretching like tomasc said speed limit signs in US is rectangular and converting it looks like a square...

if you don't mind the horizontal bars then i'd recommend ynotfish's 16:9 to 2.35:1 masks and produce normally.

Your shared video shows the black border along the top and bottom regardless of the AR setting in VLC. The MediaInfo details show why:

Even though your video has a 2.37 ratio between the number of H and V pixels, the clip's AR attribute is set for 16:9 (1.77). This means that somewhere along the line you've missed an important step, and simply changing the resolution from 1080x800 to 2560x1080 hasn't solved the issue.

At the start of this post, you mentioned that you tried taking a shortcut but that didn't work. Since then, it looks like you've resisted the explicit instructions mentioned by PepsiMan and are continuing to have difficulty.

From where I sit, it seems that if you could temprorarily set aside the "shoulds" and "shouldn't have tos" and walk through the steps exactly as described, you'd end up with your clip looking just like PepsiMan's completely borderless sample.

I'm basically suggesting to start with what clearly works, and then see if you can make any improvements or find a shortcut.

It was hard to find a true 21:9 video online to test. First link here for an anamorphic adapter for the GoPro actually displays black bars on the top and bottom: https://www.imaging-resource.com/news/2014/01/16/first-sample-footage-from-the-letus-anamorphic-adapter-for-gopro-emerges . YouTube 21:9 videos and 16:9 videos are both displayed in a 16:9 frame in IE. Have to use Chrome. I am always looking for ways to improve things. Link to this one used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0neQ5P6q7I . Edited/Titled in PD17. Anamorphic flag set using FF mpeg.

Thanks to Optodata and the PepsiMan we can have 21:9 videos. The testing revealed only 5 viewers capable of displaying a produced 16:9 video with an anamorphic flag to display 21:9 on the Nov 9, 2018 post: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/77712.page;jsessionid=7F0650B98753247AEF5AD6A905CD3725 .

Today I found that you can have 16:9 videos that can have an anamorphic flag that can display in 21:9 in other viewers. Need users to confirm this attached video. This may be an easier route to edit and create 21:9 videos.

How come pepsiman’s sample produce_fromnow24x1 also has an aspect ratio of 16:9 ?

I’m pretty sure I followed the steps exactly. On another older post someone too mentions that he followed the guidelines but did not have the expected results.

I’ll redo it for all parts of Pepsiman’s tutorial and will upload it when I get home soon.

To repeat: my original video is 1920x800 with 2.40:1 AR and that’s how I would want to keep it. PD makes it 1920x1080 leaving the images/video completely intact but adding horizontal black bars.

I created 4 short samples from 2 different videos by following pepsiman's guidelines from his youtube tutorial.
The first orginal video is a 1920x800 2.40:1 music video bought on apple. I would want to keep it without black bars.
The second is a 1920x1080 16:9 digital copy of a dvd. It has horizontal black bars in it. I would want to remove the black bars.

Music video clip:
http://www.filedropper.com/1producefinal235x1

Digital copy dvd:
http://www.filedropper.com/2producefinal235x1
http://www.filedropper.com/2producevizio21x9

I wrote the guidelines from the tutorial down. Here they are:

Create 3 custom profiles in PD.

Go to Produce -> H.264 AVC MP4 (This profile encodes MPEG-4 video files) -> + (Create new profile)

(1) Profile name= 2.35:1
Description= 3840x1634 30p

Q6

Video
1920x1080
29.97
Progressive
High profile
CABAC
20000
Quality mode
Use deblocking

Audio
AAC
Stereo
192

(2) Profile name= Vizio 21:9
Description= 2560x1080 30p
a 192Kb/sec v 32Mb/sec
Q6

Same video and audio tabs parameters as the first profile

(3) Profile name= 4K(QfHD)
Description= 3840x2160 30p
a 192 Kb/sec v 50Mb/sec
Q6

Same video and audio tabs parameters as the first profile

Close PD without saving or go back to default and edit.

Open the profile.ini and change the parameters to these=
For the first profile= 2.35:1
<video width="300" height="150">50000000
<Min BitRate>37500000
<Max BitRate>50500000
<Video Width>3840
<Video Height>1634
For the second profile= Vizio 21:9
<Video BitRate>32000000
<Min BitRate>24000000
<Max BitRate>32500000
<Video Width>2560
<Video Height>1080
For the third profile= 4K(QfHD)
<Video BitRate>50000000
<Min BitRate>37500000
<Max BitRate>50500000
<Video Width>3840
<Video Height>2160
Save and exit.

Open PD and open the project you want.
Set project AR to 4:3
Bring video down to the timeline.
Click no to the AR conflict message.
Go to produce, choose the custom profile 2.35:1 and start.
Go back to edit, clear the timeline, bring down the video you just created and change the AR to 16:9
Right click the video on the timeline, set aspect ratio, set AR 4:3 + stretch to 16:9, apply all video clips
Go to produce, choose custom profile 4K(QfHD) and start.
(This creates the final 2.35x1 samples)

Open PD. Set AR to 16:9.
Choose project you want.
Go to produce, custom profile vizio 21:9 and start.
(This creates the vizio 21:9 samples)

Thank you all for reading and helping</video>
