2. I know you regard CyberLink's recommended requirements for PD11 as inadequate, but surely something must be possible with that amount of memory, otherwise it would be false advertising. The projects I plan are small, and each of my experiments thus far has been small (i.e. not one project being continually added to, and thus growing), until the green screen arrived.
3. I'm patient, if something is slower to render or update as I work because of the speed of the the HDD, that is OK as long as it *functions*. Surely the different preview quality options are designed for this reason. As you say, it's all relative.
5. I'm keen for guidance about what is gleaned from my diagnostic report re: Graphics Card drivers and where/how to update them. I'm new to Windows 8, and I don't know anything about how to update drivers generally.
6. The fix. I'm yet to try this, makes me slightly nervous. Registry Hack, as pictured. So, I change 7 to 9, eh?
[to the King] How does one 'disable HW decode', sorry for not knowing more about all this!
