It was pure luck - shot in the dark.

I was reviewing the DxDiag.text file I created ans saw .dll entries for Pinnacle Studio which I had previously uninstalled and thought that as it too is a vidio editing programme, that this might be the issue, turns out it was - I used CCleaner and did some manual registry edits usinr regedit.
The technical response was nothing more than a copy paste canned response from other tech responses I saw on the forums.
I attached the Windows Error Log/Event File as well as the DxDiag.text file and a screen shot which CLEARLY mentions that I'm running Windows 7, shows I have more than 2 GB free ram available and have close to a 1 TB free hard drive space, I also mentioned in the ticket all the steps I had completed prior to requesting the help - It is evident the technician did not even look at the attached files as their advice talked about issues in Windows XP, suggested trying some of the things I had already stated did not work, mentioned increasing RAM & freeing up hard drive space.

The most outrageous suggestion was to disable my virus scanner (Norton Internet Security 2010)while running PD8 - this is just bad advice especially considering PD 8 connects to the internet through Director Zone.

I eventually did figure the issue out on my own - conflicting drivers from Pinnacle Studio Ultimate - Uninstalled prior to PD 8 Install (Dirty Uninstall - the default uninstaller does not remove all components).

Program works fine and as advertised but the Tech Support is Abyssmal, very disappointed.

The users in the Forums are far more helpful than the official Tech Support.

I am having an issue burning my projects.

I am running:
PowerDirector Version 8.00.2220c
Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
Intel Core2 Extreme Q6850 3GHz Quad Core Processor.
4 GB RAM
NVIDIA GForce GTX 295 Graphics Card.
NVIDIA NForce 780i SLI Motherboard.

I have created a project with a video file & a slideshow. It allows me to create a menu and the preview works perfectly.

When I try to burn the project to disk it gets to 99 % and then I get an error message (PowerDirector Pop-up) that says:

"Burning Unsuccessful
Not enough storage is available to complete this operation."

The project indicates it is 1964 MB in size.

1) I first tried to burn it to a 4.7 GB DVD and got the above message.
2) I then tried a 8.5 GB Duel Layer DVD and got the same message at 99 %
3) Finally I tried burning to a folder which appears successful BUT it creates a VIDEO_TS folder with a single vob file of 0 Kb - which obviously won't play.

I have attached a screenshot showing the message.

I can successfully burn CD's & DVD's using other programs so it can't be the DVD burner or the media?

Please Help.
Hoping someone can help me out here please.

I purchased & installed PD8 Ultimate yesterday - I can create a slideshow and add video files to a project with no issues in the edit tab, they preview fine BUT if I hit the Capture, Produce or Burn Disk Buttons, the program hangs and then shuts down.

I am running:
PowerDirector Version 8.00.2220c
Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
Intel Core2 Extreme Q6850 3GHz Quad Core Processor.
4 GB RAM
NVIDIA GForce GTX 295 Graphics Card.
NVIDIA NForce 780i SLI Motherboard.

I have tried the following - none of which made any difference:
1) Rebooting (and Rebooted after every step below)
2) Ran CCleaner & Norton Utilities - Registry is good - no errors reported.
3) Uninstalled & reinstalled PD8.

Task Manager shows that CPU Usage is at 25 % & RAM has 2.8 Gb free while the program is hanging.

Regardless of the steps above, the program still hangs and then shuts down any help would be most appreciated.

Cheers
