Thank you very, very much for your reply!
My preview resolution was set to HD. I set it back to high and everything seems fine.
I'm surprised to see the performance difference it made. At HD resolution my CPU would show 100% usage and barely grind through it.

Many thanks Carl312!!

I have read several posts related to the issue and it seems that the latest patch addressed Nvidia drivers. Does anyone know if there will be another patch for AMD Radeon users. I have an AMD Radeon 6870 video card. I have tried the newest AMD driver(12.10)....no luck. I did a complete removal of all AMD software and went back to 12.8....tried 12.3 too, no luck. I have installed the latesst PD10 patch prior to the video drivers. Reinstalled QuickTime too. I really don't want to uninstall/reinstall PD10. I did an upgrade from PD9 Ultra to 10, my fear is that it will want PD9 installed first. PD9 was an upgrade from PD8.
Any suggestions?
I too have an issue playing from the timeline.

I would like my photo's to be in chronological order when I import into the library.
It appears that PD10 only views the exif data as to when the file was tranfered from the device rather than when the photo was taken.
Am I missing something here?

Ignore this comment.......i must have bumped my head before posting..

I restarted the project from scratch, all is well.
Many thanks for mentioning the AVIVO software!! I did not have that installed. What a difference in rendering time!!
Many thanks for your assistance!!

I did upate ATI driver to 9.11. The production of the video did go farther than previous attempts but ultimately failed at 27%. There was a message about not enough system memory. There were not other apps running in the background.
Yes it did complete successfully when I chose another format, Mpeg2 in fact, as per your suggestion. I did try the WMV HD again after the Mpeg 2, and it failed. Thanks for sugesting I try another format. I was fixated on making the WMV HD work.(deer in the headlights syndrome??)
PD8 crashes at the same location during production of a video.
1. I open PD8
2. load project
3. select WMV 9 standard quality (6000)
4. select save location (default "my documents")and name file
5. click start
6. watch it crash at same location 16%
7. I will have 7 C++ error windows open

I tried a screen print but PD8 closed as soon as I pressed Windows start button open imaging app. Had to reboot system.

I am new to PD8 as of Dec 1st. I used to use Pinnacle studio.
PS14 was completely remove from my system and registry, I used a PS removal tool.
I have created two other videos with out issue.
The only difference is that with this video I used scene detection to make inserting transissions possible.

Things I've tried;
-allowed windows update to update MSVB C++ 2008 ATL update
-uninstalled above update and reinstalled.
-tried different transissions at suspected crash point (the partially created file showed video length in minutes, only once, other 3 attempts the file shows 0:00:00)

See attached files.

Thanks in advance.
Eric
