Well that doesn't work for me. Only the record and stop buttons are active and when I press the record button, nothing happens. When I had Adobe Premiere and the Matrox 2000 package, I could fully control this camera via the 1394 port. So far, the only way I can capture in PD8 is by manually pressing the play button on my camera and then the record button in PD8. this sometimes results in almost a minute of freeze frame video at the start of the recorded clip. Major bummer.
I have purchased PD8 ultra. I am trying to capture video from a Sony TRV70. So far the only way I have been able to capture is full manual where I start the camcorder and then push the record button. I would prefer to batch capture as I did with Adobe Premiere but all the batch capture buttons are inactive. My camera is connected to a 1394 port. Does anyone have any suggestions what might work?
I have seen PB8 crash a couple times, once when I was importing media. It hasn't been a serious problem yet any way. I try and remember to save often.
I don't know if it will help but I may have experienced a similar problem with my current project. I dropped a clip into a PIP track and when I played the project it appeared to stall at that clip. I found out the problem was what appears to be a botched import from my camera. For some reason there was 2 minutes of a single frame at the front of the clip. The third effort to import the clip worked and everything is playing correctly now. Hope that helps.
