Batch Capture problem

I have purchased PD8 ultra. I am trying to capture video from a Sony TRV70. So far the only way I have been able to capture is full manual where I start the camcorder and then push the record button. I would prefer to batch capture as I did with Adobe Premiere but all the batch capture buttons are inactive. My camera is connected to a 1394 port. Does anyone have any suggestions what might work?

I don't know. That's exactly how I capture from my Canon DV. Plug it in to 1394 port. Press the record button in PD and it starts playback and records to the hard drive. Does the other controls work in PD, like rewind, etc? Possibly the camera doesn't follow the correct protocols, but I would think it should since it has 1394 ports. __________________________________

Well that doesn't work for me. Only the record and stop buttons are active and when I press the record button, nothing happens. When I had Adobe Premiere and the Matrox 2000 package, I could fully control this camera via the 1394 port. So far, the only way I can capture in PD8 is by manually pressing the play button on my camera and then the record button in PD8. this sometimes results in almost a minute of freeze frame video at the start of the recorded clip. Major bummer.
