I submitted a ticket on Jan 19 and still do not have my issue resolved. They gave me a solution, but it didnt work and I am waiting for a response back. This is very disturbing by the complaints that I see and then I am experiencing them myself. I have invested hundreds of dollars in there software and upgrades. I love there software, I have never seen any better. But I am looking for some help.

My problem is that I did an update to my Power DVD 10 ultra and since that update my software would not respond. So I uninstalled and tried to reinstall. Well I had difficulty trying to get it to work. My Ver 10 was an upgrade from 9 and cant get them to work. So I submitted a ticket and they responded with new downloads of ver 9 and ver 10. This is what they told me to do:

I dont know if anyone is still paying attention to this thread or not, but they gave me a new link for download to try. So I downloaded it and installed everything. After doing this I did notice something. After the install it would start up imediately. I could close it and restart it over and over again and it would still open immediately. BUT, after I left it for awhile and tried to come back and use Power DVD it would again take about 2 minutes before it would open. From that point I could close it and start it again. It would open immediately.

So to me it seems like something happens after you close PowerDVD and dont use it for awhile.

It is totally amazing when you submit a support ticket about this problem, that first of all, they dont even really read what you tell them. And second, after you tell them that that doesnt work, the next person tells you to do the same thing as the previous person. LOL. Why have this service if you are really not going to pay atttention to what the customer tells you. Very frustrating.
If it hasnt been too long, then maybe ask them for a refund.
Has anything been discovered yet?
Well I have the upgrade version to 10. But I just downloaded the trial version of the full version of 10 and even the trial takes a minute or so to open up. It is the latest version of 1705.
Here is my Dxdiag
Well I have three video cards and only one monitor hooked up to one DVI.
So your from Maine, Capn Kevin?

My name is Kevin also and will be moving to Maine in about two months. In the Topsham area.
Well I restarted and then tried to open the program. It only took like 5 seconds this time. So Im not sure that it is the playback device part. I dont know. It isnt a life or death situation, but you build a fast computer and everything runs fast, then you purchase the new PowerDVD and BAM, everything comes to a halt. LOL
I did try it and it did open instantly. Im not convinced yet that that is it. But it is interesting.

After I closed the device menu, it still would start up instantly.

I will probably try it again after I restart and see what it does. Thanks for the help.
Well I dont have a problem with my speakers. I have done the start with start up,but then it opens itself right up, and then if I am not going to use it, I have to close it.

Still it should just start up. I also have a i7 960, 6gb of RAM, TRI Crossfire 5870's. Plenty of power. There has to be a software issue as to why it takes a minute for PowerDVD to start up.
Well some of them I may not need, but to have them running doesnt slow my computer down at all. My operating system is on an SSD and all my computer specs of just about the top of the line. My previous versions did not have an issue before, and dont know why this one would. I feel that if I didnt have a problem before and I have the top of the line system, and I pay hundreds of dollars over the years with a product, that it should be able to run without having to hold one foot in the air as I sing the national anthem out loud at midnight. I am beging humerous, but sometimes it funny what companies want you to do, in order to get there product running correctly.

I just feel there has to be an answer somewhere. And not have to disable all my programs. Cause I know that that is not the issue.

Thank you for your input though. I do appreciate your time.
Since I purchased my PowerDVD 10, I have had problems with it taking almost 1 Minute to just start up. Is anyone else having this problem? I have contacted tech support and basically what they have wanted me to do is disable all of my startup programs to get it to work. That doesnt make any sense. With other PowerDVD version, I didnt have this problem. I have asked them to come up with another idea and have not heard from them in 11 days.

Is anyone else having this problem, and what are you doing? Is this a Win 7 issue, or what?
