Thanks for highlighting those points, though these are not the causes of my problem.

Don't think BluRay is the issue here as I have successfully burnt some projects into DVD and can be played normally though they are of smaller sizes/length.
I only have problem with one project which is of bigger size / length (mentioned in my earlier post).
Anyway, let me try making a fresh project with similar size /length & see the outcome.

Yes, BluRay do have better quality & larger capacity.
Unfortunately I do not have a BluRay burner currently & I won't be getting once soon as I still have many DVD-R blank disc stock.
I will try doing a fresh project similar in size and menus and see whether it is playable after burning in PD12.

Appologise for the late posting, was not able to enter cyberlink websites for the past few days.
Oh, there it is. Thank you.
Tried burning to a disk folder & it was successful.
However, the video quality has dropped as compared to when burning direct to DVD disc. Is that normal?

Just complete the "Produce" in DVD HQ & the result can be played with the ASUSDVD Player. The produce does not contain the menu.
Could the "Menu" in the project the caused of the problem?

Per PD12, the burning was successful.
May I know where is the "uncheck Burn Disk, Check Burn Disk folder" option located? I can't find it in PD12 "Produce" & "Create Disc" page.
I have tried burning one without any menu & end result is the same.
I'm trying "Produce" now in DVD HQ 720x576 50i to the PC and see how is the outcome.

Nope, nothing being shown as disc keep spinning.
If I double click on the DVD RW folder, the PC will hang for a while & it will revert back to normal windows again. No error message etc.
When I press eject, the disc tray will open & the ASUSDVD media player will then launch.
Think I will try burning with a different menu or no menu at all to see the outcome.

Hi all,
After I have burnt the project to DVD-R disc using the DVD Hi-Q format, the finished disc cannot be played on my PC using ASUSDVD media player, or PS3 or conventional DVD player. The disc will just keep spinning with all the media not showing anything. The project is about 60min & size is 4.3G & I'm using a 4.7G DVD-R. The frustrated part is I have burnt the same project in PD9 and it works perfectly. I did try to burnt a 10min project & it works fine.
Any advise on where could be the caused of this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Carl & Borgus.
Just found out that ASUSDVD media player that comes with the PC can play those files without issue. Did not realize this as the Windows 8 pop-up window when double click on the video file did not show ASUSDVD media player as a option.
Will check out K-Lite for the codecs.

Hi,
Just got the PD12 few days ago & was trying around to familiarize.
Do a project for testing and when I produce to MPEG2/DVD, there is no video image in the finished products when played with media player. Only audio is OK. Playing back the finished clip in PD12 was OK though.
This only happen when produced to MPEG2/DVD format & I have also tried various combination within this format but with the same result.
Producing to the other format like AVI, MPEG4, DVI etc have no issue at all.
Format with no video image
a) DVD HQ 720x576 50i 8Mbps
b) DVD HQ 720x576 25p 8Mbps
c) MPEG2 1920x1080 24p 25Mpbs
d) MPEG2 1920x1080 50i 25Mbps
Format that are OK
a) DV AVI 720x576 50i 25fps
b) AVC 1920x1080 50i 16Mpbs
c) MPEG4 640x480 25p 6Mbps
What could be the issue?
Anyone can help?
Thanks in advance

Just a update on the issue so others can benefit.
While trying to fix the lost menu, I decided to upgrade to PD12. And "Create Disc" can be activated with PD12, though without the menu of course. This saves me from re-doing the whole project again.

Yes, I've always been careful but might have taken my eye off the screen this time.
I'm actually trying now using WordPad & comparing it against another project with close properties. Hopefully can get it to work.
It is a painful lesson learnt in a very hard way.
Thanks for everything.

Thanks Carl.
The menu template was downloaded from director zone & I still have the original menu as another project using it is working fine. The one that was deleted was with some modifications & saved as another name.
I have also tried making some modifications to the original menu template & save it as the same name as the deleted copy but it still doesn't work.
Guess there is no way to "unlink" the menu from the project so that I won't have to redo it again.

Hi,
I accidentally deleted a menu template (which I made some modification) & now PD9 crash when I launch the "Create Disc". The crash happen almost towards the end portion of 'Create Disc" stage. The pop-up error is the standard windows program not functioning error. That's why I attribute the problem to the deleted menu template as I'm able to burn other project not using that particular menu.
The original menu template is "Film Festival" & I have renamed it Film Festival 1 after I made the modification.
I have tried using 3rd party data recovery software but not able to pinpoint exactly which is the correct file to restore.
Will appreciate any kind of help so that I do not need to redo the editing all over again (taken about 2 weeks).
1) Which file type should I recover?
2) Anyway to "deactivate" the menu template link from the project so that I can launch it with "Create Disk" & redo the menu again?
Appreciate your reply.
Thanks

Thanks.
Appreciate that.

Thanks for the reply, guys.
I'll probably go round it like what Des said as it will be a more logical way for me as I have multiple clips with adjusted audio as well beside the background music.
Hope the guys at Cyberlink will do something about this. The menu volume in PD7 was able to be adjusted. Why did they disable it in PD9? only they knows.
Cheers

Hi,
Can someone advise me is there any way to adjust the DVD menu background music volume when in the Disc Creation window. I have a problem with the volume as it is alot louder than the background music in my videos after disc burning.
Thanks in advance.
