Never mind, figured it out. Thanks PTOOTS for all the great tutorials.
Is there any easy and quick way to get an effect to fade in and out of a clip. It seems that effects only snap on and off. not a very nice effect.
Well, one issue is that about every 5 min or so, during a project, all of the buttons and about 2/3 of the screen go blank (dark grey) I have to minimize the window and then bring it back to get all the screen back. Pretty annoying, been dealing with this for a while. Working on a project yesterday and a short 00:02:30 project would not fully preview or render when I tried to produce it. Went back, took out transitions, effects, rearranged clips, it would stop at the same time code each time. Finally produced the front half then the back half into two separate files and put them together to get a very simple final product. PD9 seems to be getting more buggy every time I use it. Nothing has changed on the computer. I am very hesitant to sink any more money into PD10 as things are not going very smooth with PD9. I have stuck with PD since PD7 any help would be appreciated. Thanks Chris, I was aware of that one. That would be the obvious and quickest selection. Barry suggests that PD9 has more than one way to slow video down. I guess you have to know the secret hand shake to get that information. O well......
Well, do share. Went to your link and did not see any tutorial on slo-mo. Would like to know of any trick in PD9, other than the obvious speed change option, that I may try.
Thanks...
I have seen many great slo-mo clips using the plugin "Twixtor". Is this available for PD9?
Applied all the updates through 2504, everything seems to work fine except the preview of the project in the timeline. Audio track plays through but the video is very glitchy and hangs alot. Just finished a very long wedding project on the original PD9 and everything seemed fine. Can I go back.

Thank you all for your help, especially Dafydd. It seems the new i7 is running the program flawlessly. I'll let you know how it handles 3 or 4 HD pips. :
Yah, I have all the info and cd keys and so on, the old computer is going to be up and running on the HDTV soon. A few months back Tech had me uninstall everything in PD8 upgrade, and download a full version of 8 in one shot. Kinda what I was hoping to do now.
Just sprung for a new computer that will hopefully run PD8 much better. How do I get the full version of PD8, that I purchaced about 6 months ago, online, loaded into the new hotrod computer? Thanks Shawn
OK, so splitting the track and putting the EFX and transition diredtly to the master track video worked well.
The small fade transitions didn't work very well as the Master Track was just a split of one continous video. It was a big help to start a new project to practice on and then just not save it. Thanks all!
Shawn
I'll give that a shot, thanks so much.
Shawn
I have a master track video with a transition in it, (burning transition) in the fx track I have (color edge), I have a still pic in the first and only pip track and some text in the text track. Is there a way to fade in the FX track so the FX does not snap on like a light switch, I would like the FX to ease into view??
