Many thanks for your detailed reply, I will take a look at the tutorials as well. Kind regards Neil
Hi I hope someone can just confirm I am approching this project correctly (probably really basic stuff) or tell me were I am going wrong. I want to make a simple slideshow DVD with basic menu with 4 chapters on the menu.

Each chapter will be a different set of photos from a recent trip.

Do I first make set of photos as a seperate .pds file, then import all 4 files togeather to make a new file which will become the final DVD file?

If so do I produce them as a "create file" on step 1 of production, but then which format in step 2 AVI or MPEG?

Any help or advice would be welcome. I have read through the user guide and I am still a bit confused as to if this is the correct way forward.

Ok looked in chair icon>file>help> about - it has version 7.00.1915 is this it?

I have looked at the patch on the links you recommended which I can download, do I run or save the file?

Many thanks

Neil

Hi Babdi, I have tried that and nothing happens except the file name is displayed at the top of the screen, I have tried it with some other files and it works OK, I think the file has a problem, how can I retrive from the back up file?

Thanks for your reply

Neil
and both will work on a DVD player once burned?

Neil
Probably a very basic simple question, but I am just getting to grips with the basics of PD7, there seems to be a lot of different formats which I can produce the file into, I just want to produce a format that I can burn onto a disc and play on a standard UK DVD player, which one should I use? and if anyone can advise what I would use the other formats for? that would be great.

Many thanks

Neil
Wow that is spooky this has just happen last night to me, I have just joined the forum hopeing to find out what I can do, I can see the file as an PDS file go to open the file or import the file and nothing happens! the file name is showen at the top of the screen as if it is trying to open it but nothing, have opened other files instantly but they are not PDS, I also have a backup file but do not know how to open it, I am not getting any error messages, if any one can help advise it would be appriciated I am running PD V7.

Many thanks

Neil.
