Hi I hope someone can just confirm I am approching this project correctly (probably really basic stuff) or tell me were I am going wrong. I want to make a simple slideshow DVD with basic menu with 4 chapters on the menu.
Each chapter will be a different set of photos from a recent trip.
Do I first make set of photos as a seperate .pds file, then import all 4 files togeather to make a new file which will become the final DVD file?
If so do I produce them as a "create file" on step 1 of production, but then which format in step 2 AVI or MPEG?
Any help or advice would be welcome. I have read through the user guide and I am still a bit confused as to if this is the correct way forward.
Not a PDS file. PDS is the set of instructions to Powerdirector of what to do.
I would put the photos one after the other on the timeline, insert any transitions, then Produce to the format you want to produce.
If for a standard DVD choose MPEG-2 HQ.
You can add music in the first step or you can add music after the photos are produced to a slide show.
Powerdirector has Smart Sound (Magic Music) for royalty free music.
After the music is added, then produce your DVD in the Create Disk Module.
In the Create Disk Module are several choices of Menus, just choose one you like. Or there are menu templates available for download on Directors Zone.
Save several numbered versions (Save As) of the project at each step so that you have a way to go back if something goes wrong.
You can make chapters in the edit space, left side of PD interface is icons, one is Chapter Room.
To make seperate chapters of each slide show, but each produced mpg slide show on the timeline and put chapters at each clip. (There is a button for that).
The other way is to add each project in the Create Disk Module as Titles.
There are tutorials on Youtube.
