Thanks...hate to keep bugging you but you are really trying to help so I will...

When you are in the "Create" tab and creating the file, is there one that I should specifically use if I am going to burn it to a DVD to use in a standalone player??

Thanks...have you tried this and it works on standard DVD players?
I have created many discs using PD that play on computers, but I want to create a disc that people can play on their televisions via a standard DVD player. Is this possible? What format should I use to create the file before burning the disc.
Thanks Jeff. Too bad they did that. Just makes doing the conversion a longer process.

Wonder if there is a work-around? Probably not if you don't know about it, thanks.

Ken
I have a VHS system connected to my Sony DCR PC110 camcorder and the camcorder connected to my laptop. I am trying to convert the analog VHS tape to Digital to put onto DVD. The PowerDirector software is not seeing the VHS tape nor letting me record it. The controls in the software only seem to really work with a tape in the Camcorder, which I am not doing.

Any suggestions??
I have a DVD with some video files on it. The their are 5 large video files on it. I am trying to import them into PowerDirector Ver 7 for editing.
One of the files (they are all mpegs) will not import and gives me an error:
An error occured when opening this media file in the media library

I have tried importing directly from the DVD as well as copying the files to my hard drive (which can be done). The problem occurs when I try to import it into PowerDirector.

Any thoughts?
