What is the full path that they are in? One way they get generated is a fail and/or crash while doing a "Create Disc" operation, if so, they can be removed.
Jeff
Yes, thank you. There have been a few fails during disc creations. I deleted them and it hasen't caused a problem runnning the program. Also, glad you mentioned the Preference menu... have learned (and changed) a lot in it.
Thanks again, you've been a great help.

Jeff, with you being so knowledeable (I just bought PD17 this month) may I ask you one last question? What are these PP_motion.tmp files and may I delete them and cause no damage to a project?
And I did change the target drive through preferences.. thanks again.
Thank you

If you set it in pref > File the Export Folder it should typically stay until you change it.
Just be careful if an external drive and you have multiple devices periodically attached. If you have not hard set the drive letter the letter can revolve depending on several factors.

To be clear, this is a user forum, and every question you've asked in the previous 3 threads was answered by a fellow PD user. Nobody from Cyberlink will typically see these posts.
As for your drive space issue, could you take a screenshot of what the Produce room screen looks like right before you click Start? It would help to see the folder name and the pie charts. You can attach the image here using this button under the forum text box:
It might be even better if you used Screen Recorder to capture what happens when the error message comes up, then uploaded the clip to YouTube or Google Drive and pasted teh link to it here.
Hi, thanks for reply. In my original post, I meant to use "When I'm in Produce", not "when I'm in Program", which you picked up. I tried again with a real small video and it worked ccorrectly, but I noticed that this time the name of my file was included, but my earlier tries had only the drive letter (K . I'l try again with a larger file and see what happens. If problem persists I'll send a screen shot, but may have been my error. I wish you could select a target drive for saving and have it stay as the new default location.
Thank you again.

Hi.. I've mentioned before about getting messages that say only half of the free space is available on a blank DVD when I wanted to burn a video to a ddouble density DVD. I can work around this by splitting the video in two and burning to two 4.7GB DVDs.
But now I'm getting a WORSE message. When in "Program" and I try to make an AVI, MPEG, or similar file and save it directly to a new external hard drive rather than to the default "17" directory of Powerlink 17, it will do about 5% of the creation and an "NOT ENOUGH ROOM on STORAGE DRIVE" message pops up and the writitng stops. It's a brand new 1TB external drive (I've tried two new 1TB external drives that work with other programs), and the target directory is listed in the directory space AS THE NEW EXTERNAL drive. Something in your programs is reading the memory content of DVDs and hard drives incorrectly.
Please reply... I want to be able to have my created AVI files saved directly to a drive other than my C: drive. Again, the destination drive reads where I want it to go, but something triggers the creating to stop if not your default target location.
Thank you,

It's better to completely uninstall the trial version first. Installing the full version of PD doesn't automaically remove the trial version, and that can cause problems afterward.
Thank you for speedy reply

Hi.. I purchased locally PowerDirector 17 Ultra. Before installing it, should I un-install the Trial version I had been evaluating, or will the new full copy install safely over the trial?
Thank you

I've been trying to reach customer with questions re upgrading my trial version fto full Powe Director 17, but form doesn't let me to add the required my first and last names and go further. Happens every time I try to contact Cyberlink.
Questions:
1) May I load the program on two PCs? (I live alone and like to have conversion of family VHS tapes to DVD running on two computers. Every new program I've recently purchased allows me to have it on 2 PCs.
2) As happens with me with the trial program, many users have comlained that it will not burn longer videos to double layer DVDs... error message always shows half the new blank DVD is half full. Another older program that I have burns them perfectly on the DVD burner that I bought.
3) Last Saturday I went to the Cyberlink site on my old XP computer and found the program on sale for $79. I switched to this computer that I want to download the program to, and it was $99. Have not been able to find the ad again.
I'd like to buy the program but need to be sure it burns to double layer DVDs, and I can have it on two PCs. The trial program loaded perfectly on my two Windows 10 PCs with the same password.
Thank you

The Trial version has limitations. Check that you have not found one of the limits, H.264 only if the Windows Operation system supports h.264.
Which problem are you referring to, to no video, or the limited space on the double density DVD? How do I know about h.264 (what is it, where do I find it?).
Thank you for replying. I plan on getting the program. I downloaded it to another Win 10 PC, didn't change any settings, and burned the second half of the movie to DVD.

Hi. when I first tried the trial program and burned half of a long mivie (avi) to DVD it worked perfectly. When I tried to do same with second half of movie, it burned mch more quickly and the DVD had perfect sound but no video at all. Did I click on some setting inadvertently that has caused this? Since then even sometimes while editing I see no video.
I had to split the movie in half because when I tried to do whole movie on a double density DVD I got an error message saying not enough space on DVD, even though it showed figures that it was double density but showed half full.. I've seen this problem complained about by many other users.
Any help appreciated.
Thank you, cuzzzzz
