Upgrading from 6.0 to 7.0
Uninstalled v 6.0 and Photo Now.
Downloaded and run v 7.0 Delux exe.
Fails after after entering product code, message is
ctitical files not installed, re install.
Have re installed 3 times.
Web member CD key shows it is registered.
Run un installed from control panel before each install. And uninstalled
Photo Now. Run registry cleaner. Rebooted PC before amd after install.
Support repeats same fix, download another copy. Build 1714 also fails.
Support is also a failure.
Have also ckecked registry with REGEDIT for "PowerDirector".
Maybe try to return to PD 6.
PC is Vista (bad system), Intel 2 quad, 3 GB ram, Gateway.
Any ideas ???

Thanks for reply.
Done more testing with different formats.
Problem appears to be with dvr-ms.
A good AVI file worked OK.
Put software "AVI Video Tools" on older XP desktop and got audio first then lips moving. On new Vista desktop, looks like reversed, video then audio. Did not put PD6 back on XP (being discontinued) for more tests.
So, PD6 fails on dvr-ms loading (converting) into Edit correctly. Saw that PD6 creates a meg file to work with.
MS Media Center only has one output, dvr-ms and it is not processable.
So, what next???

Video(lips) and voice(audio) not in sync
This problem occurs with a VHS capture card *.AVI file and Microsoft Media Center TV *.dvr-ms files.
Problem was on prior desktop and now on new desktop.
Prior- XP SP2, 1 GB ram, 3.0 Ghz cpu
New - Vista SP1, Intel Core 2 Quad, 2.4 Ghz, 3GB memory.
No other programs running.
Appears that original files AVI or dvr-ms are OK most of the time, but not always. Use PowerDVD7 to view original and a saved file after PD6 edit of a good source file.
But import good file into PD6 or other software (AVS Converter) and problem appears.
Beginning is OK, but the longer the video, the worse it gets at end.
See lips move and then the delayed voice (maybe I got it backwards, voice then lips move). Sync bad at end of 30 min video. Maybe a (1) second on longer videos. Can see this problem in PD6 Edit function before output to HD or burn to disk.
Think it has something to do with conversion when data is loaded. That is when I first see problem using PD6 edit play. Desired output is DVD meg2.
Did learn that VHS tape must be running before record starts and continue running after record stops. Gets video/audit in sync on AVI file.
But then lost it on import into PD6.
Saw another post with video audio sync problem, but different setup.
Any ideas on a fix???

You may have found the problem.
Checked the PD6 Capture, TV and DTV, menu settings.
Both NO, "ATSC" in the drop down list.
Got a new computer with a analog digital tuner:
Tuner name not listed.
Spec
Analog - PAL, NTSC, SECAM
Digital - ATSC
Miscrosoft Vista, Intel Core 2 Quad
Installed PD6 build 1731b.
PD6 failed on DTV.
Old computer is XP, Pentium 4, 3.0 Ghz, ATI HDTV Wonder.
PD6 failed on DTV.
So, the problem must be PD6.

Thanks for reply
This patch is NOT there. . It links to the 2319_patch.
http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/download/dl_patch_417_4_ENU.html
But run 2319 it again on second install after second install did not fix problem.
First install:
Purchased box CD with manual
VDE070717-03
600.2319 Deluxe
downloaded patch
20074310,2319_patch_VDE070717-03.exe
Support instructed me to download web version and do a lot of computer checks.
Now have installed
build 1731b VDE070411-03.exe (First I uninstalled the 2319)
virtual memory over the 512 and max 1024 size
Deleted files from “temp” directories
HD is 42 GB free, minium is 15BG
screen is set to 1024 x 768 16 bit
Upgraded to DirectX 9c
Run Norton virus
Also run (not on list) - registry fix, disk clean up, and defrag.
Later run the 2319 patch and still no fix.
So, support does not have a fix. Support making a lot suggestions that don’t work.
Only thing not done on list is check for update VGA and sound driver.
Gee, what next, get new computer.
Now have XP Home, SP2, will put SP3 on, but don’t think it will help with this.
==================
PD6 detects and shows ch 13 as soon as DTV function is selected but channel can’t be changed.
PDR6 terminates when the Capture, DTV, Channel Scan is run.
Error - instruction at 0x0b7c1d55(values change) referenced memory at 0x0b( values change).
The interface to the ATI HDTV Wonder tuner is not working for finding the other channels.
There are a few digital channels above and below the one that PD6 gets.
Also, was able to record the one channel it gets to HD.
Also can’t run with desktop access to the turner and run PD6 “DTV” at the same time.
Well, that is about it for now.

PD6 will not change DTV channels. It is always locked on ch 13.
Capture source = DTV, changing the 001 number does not do anything.
Typing another number does nothing.
Up Down arrows do not change channels.
"Scan Channel" gets "PDR.exe application error", PD6 then terminates.
drop down from capture, "device setup", does nothing.
PD 6.00 Delux
Have installed the upgrade for PD6.
Desktop PC:
XP Professional SP2
Intel Pentium 4, 3.0 ghz
No video card, maybe part of chip set.
1 GB ram
ATI HDTV Wonder tuner, getting 8 DTV channels with on screen ATI tuner.
Any idea why PD6 locked on one channel???
