Can someone tell me if there is a way to reduce the size of the final movie. I am playing my completed PowerDirector DVD movies (originally from old VCR home movies) on the Television. I seems to me that the image might appear better if it used up less of the TV screen due to the original lower resolution. Is there a format (or a technique) that will allow the final movie to be displayed in a smaller area giving the illusion of better resolution.
Thanks

I have seen the system requirements for PowerDirector 6, but it is somewhat confusing to me. Can some one give me the optimal hardware package in simple terms so I can just pick out a new computer that will not limit the program in any way.
I am running on a marginal system currently and am unhappy with the slow speed and delays.
Thanks

Hi Dafydd
Thanks for the help. Do I need to copy all the files from the DVD or just the vob files?

I am considering purchasing PowerDirector 6. I have viewed the requirements online but I am not experienced enough to know if my hardware and software are enough. The following is what I have:
Dell Inspiron 5150 labtop computer
Windows XP Pro version 2002 SP2
MobilIntel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.80Ghz
1.25GB Ram
Display adapter: XGI Volari-XP5 v2.059 Dell
Audio: SigmaTel C-Major Audio
I have an external USB Maxtor 500 Gb hard drive
I am going to upload and edit older home movies that have been transferred onto a DVD. My DVD device on the computer is a NEC
DVD+-RW ND-6500A.
I transfered my VHS tapes to the DVDs using a dvd/vhs combination player/recorder. This device created a stand alone playable DVD. I can play the dvd on my computer but can PowerDirector import the video?Does the contents of the DVD it need to be "captured" using some sort of device or video card?
Thanks
Mark
