Man o man u fellas R so smart. I wish I had a day to scan your brains and could retain everything in them. R better yet...scan your brains and save the info into my external hard drive. LOL....~_~

~_~

PS: Did I tell ya all that u R AWESOME!!!!
Yes but I'm trying to understand how to save it to external drive. Not sure how PD6 paths work.

When I save the clip do I save it directly to the external hard drive or do I save it to my computer and then drag to hard drive.

Because I would like to get my clips and save them to the xternal drive and then erase it from my computer.

Not sure I'm explaining it correctly.

thanks for your help

geneva
So will drag and drop work....meaning will it actually copy the clip or do I need to save the clip to the xternal hard drive? and then import it back into PD6. Not sure how the paths of PD6 works.
Also how big of external should I get? I'm looking at Lacie 1Tb hispeed usb drive.
thank you again

How is the best way to manage your clips? I am wanting to take clips from years 1976 to 2008 of each of my children and save likewise for a movie that is just about each individual childs life. Of course I have many hours of video in my camcorder and have been importing and splitting and saving but the thought occurred to me that I will likely run out of memory on my computer and was thinking I should buy an external hard drive for my clips, photos, music etc.
Is the the correct solution or is there a better way? I would love any input you have on this situation.

Thank you in advance for your input.

I see...thank you very much for your input. Itz such a pleasure to hear your point of view. That is exactly what I've been doing but saw the post and thought maybe I was complicating things and there was a way to keep my work in the menus.

Again thank you for your time.

geneva
oh...yes I've done that as well but it doesn't stay in the menu.
If stays with the movie and then is gone.

Thank you for any of your expert advice.

I truly understand and I thank you for your response. I use Adobe Photo Shop and Adobe Illustrator and yes I have alot of .png files and .psd files. ALSO...I did xactly what you suggested in your response. I worked with a copy so as not to disturb any of the REAL stuff in PD6.

Hopefully your friend could email me if he/she gets the time. It would be awesome as I am TeamMom for football, basketball and baseball with 2 super jocks still at home. I create movies of the entire season and give as gifts to all families on the team.

again thank you so much...you are always so very helpful and I do appreciate ALL YOUR TIME!!!

geneva
I would love to do this also...could you elaborate on how to make this work? I did follow the paths you suggested but don't know how to change the xml file to insert my artwork name. Won't let me edit? Was using copy and paste. Do I need some kind of program that will make xml files?
Thank you for your help AGAIN!!!!!
I'm so sorry ... I will use this forum from now on. I just wasn't sure you were understanding what I wanted. I THANK YOU for all your help and for taking the time to view my post on SeeMyWorld to better understand what I was trying to achieve and also thank you for all the help you gave me in uploading the video to SeeMyWorld.

I agree about posting here because I read all the posts everyday to see what all I might be missing.

I just can't THANK YOU ENOUGH...You are not only BRILLIANT but so awesomely INCREDIBLE. I realize it takes alot of your time and don't want to seem pesky. If I keep working and learning maybe someday I can help you answer some of these posts.

I'm just a mom wanting to archive and document all the special moments in life.
I received a special offer regarding DVD Suite 6 Pro.

Do you know if each program is separate here and do they have all the abilities of a full version single program?

Here's why I ask...I currently have Power Director 6.00.2319 and love it. Currently no problems I'm aware of...If I purchase the above product it says it has Power Director 6.5 and I don't know if there are problems with this version.

I have Power Producer 4.00.1718 but have paid for Version 4.2 which never worked. After paying for and contacting phone support I was told there was a problem that they were working on and they made me download 4.00.1718 instead. The DVD Suite 6 Pro says it has Power Producer 4.2...has it been fixed?

I was told that I needed to purchase Power 2 Go so this would be a plus.

I tried to download the trial MediaShow3 but my computer said it was not meant for my operating system.

Please advice if DVD Suite 6 Pro is worth paying for as I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium.

Again it would be important if each program is self contained as I probably will not use all of them.
I'm trying to get all my photos organized and into a slideshow that would make sense.

Right now working on mom and dads 50th anniversary movie. I had made this boxes sort of like window boxes that looked like a flower garden for each table. Each flower's center had a photo pertaining to their 50 years together. There are around 150 photos that I used for these flower gardens.

I want to make a movie that starts with the film from the actual party but ends with a slideshow of the photos I used in the flower garden table decorations.

I started out using the slideshow part of PD6 but found it to be a bit boring after a while so I then tried with the transitions from PD6 and loved it. It seems a bit time consuming though so thought maybe there was an easier way.

I am currently dragging the photo to the time line, selecting a 9 sec duration and then adding a transition. I've gotten through about half of them when I decided to post this to see if there is an easier way to do this.

Like is there a batch process that would put the same transition between say maybe 10 to 20 photos? I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium and PowerDirector 6.

Thank you for your help in this matter.
I don't have Power2Go but I do have PowerProducer...will that work the same way.
Is it possible to burn a DVD that would not only consist of movie and slideshows but also include a folder that would contain the original jpgs used in the slide show?

That way you could watch the movie but would also be able to print the photos if you wanted...

thank you for your instruction if this is even possible.
Thank you so much for your quick response however I'm totally confused now.

Does that mean that I should have purchased Power Producer INSTEAD of PowerDirector?

I was sold on all the effects, templates, PIP, etc. that PowerDirector6 had to offer.

When checking out Power PRODUCER it seems like it does the same thing as PowerDIRECTOR?

I'm using Windows Vista and currently have PowerDIRECTOR v6.

Could I burn using Windows DVD maker and still get the menu chapters correct?

What about the DVD I've already made? Will it open in PowerPRODUCER?

AGAIN...I appreciate your input on this matter.
First let me say...I LOVE PowerDirector6...and I just made my first movie.
Still learning everything.

Problem: DVD Menu looks great...I have 3 chapters and they are different parts of my daughters life. They look awesome but when I select a chapter it plays and then continues to the next part of the movie without returning to the DVD Menu page.

Plays entire movie and then returns to DVD Menu.

Did I do something wrong?
