Is there any way to add your own Pip images and use them ? The ones that came with it are useless !!!! I'm sure glad I only paid $20 bucks for the Powerdirector 6 and not the $89 bucks like eveywhere else. I have to do most of my work on MVM and then transfer over to PD.

PART A

By PiP image you mean PiP Objects - is that a correct assumption?

I have made my own (multiple image) PiP Objects for PD6 and it is a do-able. If you're capable I'm sure you can work out how or leave well alone.

You just need to look at:
C:\Program Files\Cyberlink\PowerDirector\PiPObject
Opening and altering any of these files is at your own risk.

I would love to do this also...could you elaborate on how to make this work? I did follow the paths you suggested but don't know how to change the xml file to insert my artwork name. Won't let me edit? Was using copy and paste. Do I need some kind of program that will make xml files?
Thank you for your help AGAIN!!!!!

Geneva,

I haven't a lot of time to "write up" how to - I'd have to go through various stages to make sure everything is done properly... aaaargh.

If I get five minutes I'll ask RobertJ/Oz to see if he can take on the task, as he did with Title Designer and making a Watermark.

It is the same principle but involves image movement...and that makes it more complicated.

What images do you have in mind? They need to be *.png image files on a transparent background. the *.xml files are opened with Text editor.

Note - always work on a copy!

At the moment I'm saying NO.... I haven't the time.

I truly understand and I thank you for your response. I use Adobe Photo Shop and Adobe Illustrator and yes I have alot of .png files and .psd files. ALSO...I did xactly what you suggested in your response. I worked with a copy so as not to disturb any of the REAL stuff in PD6.

Hopefully your friend could email me if he/she gets the time. It would be awesome as I am TeamMom for football, basketball and baseball with 2 super jocks still at home. I create movies of the entire season and give as gifts to all families on the team.

again thank you so much...you are always so very helpful and I do appreciate ALL YOUR TIME!!!

Geneva,

I've sent you a PM.

Object movement can be a pain - what I like to do is place 3 images in Objects and then use PiP object designer to put movement etc.

I did make some templates a while back - i will have to dig them out.

what are you 4:3 or 16:9 (use the latter)

Am I missing something? If I need picinpic item I just download desired image of proper size resolution, from any website, or any picture, anything.Open in Adobe, use the magnetic lasso to cut out the exact item, place it in a transparent background, and I have a perfect image for tossing about the screen.
Plants, baseballs, footballs, bottles, people, lazer beams, I do 'em all.

oh...yes I've done that as well but it doesn't stay in the menu.
If stays with the movie and then is gone.

Thank you for any of your expert advice.

I see...thank you very much for your input. Itz such a pleasure to hear your point of view. That is exactly what I've been doing but saw the post and thought maybe I was complicating things and there was a way to keep my work in the menus.

Again thank you for your time.
