Cool I have played both I do not own either of them "yet" but plan on owning them some time in the future.
And I am hoping to make more pinball specific videos like tech tips and less of the un-boxing videos I have up on my youtube channel.

I have also started using Twitch to stream now and may change over to twitch with my youtube channel getting the monetization taken away due to not having 1,000 subs.
Which will be gone some time this month.
And I can PM you links of the social media I am on which would be Twitch, Youtube, Facebook and Twitter.
All though my twitter is just something I post to when I stream it is handy as it auto posts to my facebook.

Just know that if you ever want to get a pinball machine they will get to be 2 then 3 and so on. xD
They are sure addicting.

Quote Interesting video.

I remember Getaway quite well. I skipped a lot of classes in university to play it, Earthshaker, and T2 I must admit. Love pinball.

David
Here is the link to the video I did.
It is a long vid at about 30 minutes but hopefully it is enjoyable and informative as well.
Official Mascot for Pinball Reviewer Repairs.

Quote Great. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

And yes, please share the video so we can see!!!
Oh ok I will do that for next time.
I made the crop work but it is noticible where shades are off.
I'll do a test with the mask at later date as I may need it for Boss against Mascot for fun.

I do have the video up now.
I like how it has turned out even the end is fine.

Quote Hello,

Actually, re-reading what you want to do, cropping the video is not the answer. You should use a mask, but you have to shoot the video to accomodate it first. If you want two of yourselves on the screen at the same time, you should be in opposite sides of the frame in each video. I am sure you know this, but just checking.

To use a mask, pust the first video on track 1, the second video right above it in track 2. Click on the video in track 2, and then click the Designer button and select Mask Designer.

Scroll down in the available masks and then choose one of the two highlighted in the attached image. It depends on which side of frame you are in on the track 2 video.

Let me know if that works better.

David
Alright thanks I got it.
It is not the best two videos in one with two charectors but it is my first try doing it so I just went with what I did.

Not sure if you want to see it when I have it uploaded to youtube or not it will be the Mascot for my business talking about pinball machines and a little bit on how to get into them and so on.

Quote Hello,

Put the video on the timeline, select it, then click the Tools button above the timeline. Select "Power Tools" and then select the Crop & Zoom option.

When in the Crop/Zoom window, click the ? to view the help content for it, and watch a tutorial about it.

David
Hello I was wondering if there is some way to crop a video in PowerDirector 15?
I am doing a video right now where I have me in both frames I just do not know if there is a crop tool for PD15 or not?

The second video I have in the track needs to be cut in about half as it shows things not in the other frame.
So I have done everything I could think of but have not found a crop tool or anything that will work for the two in one frame thing.
Any help would be appreciated!
Quote: Hi, PinballReviewerRepairs!

Just watched your clip, brilliantly done! Well synchronised too! Didn't even get that delay effect in the audio that CS2014 warned of. Probably only one comment I'd make here, you've used the hand-clap to synchronise the two parts of your clip, but once that's done, there's no real need for the hand-clap to be in the video itself. Move the scrupper to a point after where the hands disappear, then split both parts together at that point(assuming playing deck is on the Video track 1 and the scoreboard is on Video track 2), then delete the parts before the split. Put it this way, when we're wathing a movie, the pro's don't keep those clapper-boards in the picture, do they? That bit of film, once it's served its purpose, ends up on the cutting-room floor!

Still, again I say, great work!(watching reminded me of the ones I used to play as a kid.... ah, memories!)

Cheers!

Neil.

P.S. - first attempt to post went awry - copied text to clipboard, pasted to new reply panel, fingers crossed, hope it works this time.... Heaving big sigh of relief, it worked!

Yeah I should cut those out but was using the clap as I can use the hand motions to get it almost perfect.

What I may do is have my hands pulling away at the end of the clap in both videos.

The versus on my Space Mission EM is done with the clap still in as well but I can see that being anoying to most.

I played two games with my employee.

Space Mission 1976 EM.
Quote: Looking good smile the sync seems spot on to me.

p.s. - I imagine you'll be looking at other things now. I like to put a colorboard or plain image at ~50% opacity behind text to make it more legible whilst still being able to see the underlying video. Forgive me if I'm jumping your gun smile

Thanks!

It did take some time to figure out the syncing but I used my hyper sensitive hearing and went there is the que.

And then just a matter of backing it up a few frames.
Thought I would share this awesome PIP pinball machine video with you awesome helpers!

I got them sync very well for my first try.
Let me know what you think of the syncing.

The pinball machine I am playing is called Hee Haw by Chicago Coin and is a Electro-Mechanical pin.

Quote: Hello, PinballReviewerRepairs!

Clearly Longedge has the answer here! But don't be too quick to delete the audio just yet, as it will prove useful for synchronising the two video images. The images you use, and where you use them are your choice(a given exmample might be that the playing deck of the game may be on the main screen and the scoreboard in the PiP track, though you might opt for the other way round). The audio is your clue to synchronising the video. Before you even put the clips onto the timeline, view each separately in the libraey and listen for the sound picked up by each camera's microphone. The two cameras are pointed at different parts of the same game but are both picking up the same sound, so the first thing you'll hear is where you've pulled back, then released the plunger to set the first of three(or 5, in some cases) balls into play.... I used to love playing pinball machines! That sound, when matched with the same sound on the other clip, will cue everything up neatly for you when you put the clips on the timeline.

Once you've got the two clips synchronised, you can either, mute or unlink then delete the audio from the clip(either main screen or PiP) that you don't need, it's the same sound anyway, though picked up by the microphones of two different cameras.

Hope this is of some help to you.

Cheers!

Neil.

Sounds good thanks!

Quote: Not new to video editing have been using Microsoft Movie Maker for years but that only has single video.
I will have to learn PowerDirector 13 though as it looks much more advanced.

I just saw that you had newly installed PD and thought you might be new to video editing smile. You're right in saying that PD is more advanced (and capable) than the software you've been using although I know it provides a very useful first step for lots of people.

We all learn in different ways (some 'experts' have identified at least 7 different ones I'm told) but for myself I need to have done it, made a hash of it, wondered and pondered and finally with a bit of prodding in the right direction sorted it out for myself.

I try to give a clue as to the way to progress rather than a complete solution because that's what I prefer to receive when I'm having a problem. Not what everybody wants or gives but thankfully we're all different aren't we smile

Yeah that is cool.

I have only had PD for a few days so I am new to the program.

I did do a test video with dual videos but did not save it.

But I think I might do it again and save it and upload the test to my yt.

It was not to hard to do but for the actual PIP videos I'll have to sync up the vids.

I am thinking just a simple hand clap at the starting to synce up the vids sound.
Quote: If you drop one video on the first timeline and the second one on the next video timeline down then highlight each one in turn and re-size and re-position them as required then that's job done.

If they both have an audio track, you may want to delete one or both audio tracks and add a new one otherwise you'll get a bit of a babble smile

p.s. - If you are new to video editing then you need to allow yourself some time for the learning curve. It's worth it in the long run.

Not new to video editing have been using Microsoft Movie Maker for years but that only has single video.

I will have to learn PowerDirector 13 though as it looks much more advanced.

I have almost 500 vids on my Pinball Reviewer youtube channel.

And may post up some test videos using the dual screen/PIP.
I am using PowerDirector 13 on Windows 10.

I did not do a lot of tinkering as I just bought the program today so thought I would ask in the Forums here.

I need to know how to do 2 videos in one for my pinball machine videos one camera will be on the playfield while Camera 2 will be on the Scores/Backglass.
