Hello all,

I've been using PD 12 that came pre loaded in my pc along with the other solutions in the Cyberlink Media Suite. The PD 12 has been working great for me and for some reason or another it just went kaput on me. Possibly a Win 10 update don't know for certain though.

I was just wondering though if it's normal that when I open my Media Suite and click on video, the option of "advanced video editing (AVE) is completly gone. Can't find or select the option for AVE anywhere whatsover. I'd understand having the option to select AVE and then an error message appearing about not being compatible but I don't have the option at all for selecting it. I've attached a pic for reference.

Thant being said if it means an upgrade to PD 14 I'm open to the idea however my other question is would upgrading to PD 14 erase or disable me from using the rest of the solutions in the pre installed Media Suite? Secondly since I can't find the option to open up AVE would all my templates be saved and be available when using PD 14?

Quick note I was able to open PD 12 in a roundabout way by clicking on an old video file that I worked on however when I open a video file to work on i get this message, see attached. I'm thinking it might have to do once again with compatibility issues.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Hello,

I was in the process of editing an mp4 file and all was going well and right before I was able to complete the edit I got an error message saying PD 12 can't not edit mp4's and I would have to upgrade. Strange as it did let me edit the clip at the beginning and then just seemed to not let me anymore, keeps saying I have to upgrade my PD.

So I thought I restart the pc as it just might be a glitch however when I clicked Video the option for advanced video editing has dissapeared. I know there were other options as well but they don't come to mind at the moment as advanced video editing is usually the only thing i use.

Has anyone else experienced the sudden loss of the video editing software option?

Thanks for your help!
Can you guys recommend another tool or software that I can use to speed up or slow down a clip and then transport that file to PD?

thx!
Hi Dafydd,

No package or discs were given, it was preloaded on to my pc.
Hello Tomasc,

It may appear that it is not grayed out however when clicking up or down on the arrow keys it does not allow any actions same as trying to manually input a new number. Strange thing is that I only have the option of checking or unchecking stretching audio nothing else. It is the strangest bug or perhaps like you mentioned my version does not allow speed or down of video. However if that were the case why would it allow me to stretch audio.
Gents thank you both for your assistance!

I have submitted a ticket to customer service. It might very well be the fact that my version that I received when purchasing my computer has some options that were removed. If not I'll go ahead and try with the updates as well, other than this one issue everything else has worked great!

Hopefully there's a quick, easy and free solution

I'll let you guys know what I turn over.

Thanks,

Minncy

Hello Dafydd,

Thank you for your quick response. I have gone ahead and done a screen shot of my problem. As you can see the action items for the video speed buttons are all grayed out and not clickable. The only option I have is to check or uncheck the stretch audio option.

Sorry to ask you this but how do I share the screen shot I just took to show you?

Thanks,

M
Hey all,

I've been stuck for awhile on this and I'm sure it's something straigtforward that I've missed but I can't seem to highlight any options on the video speed settings. I was hoping to slow down or speed up some clips but it won't allow it, the only thing I can do is check on or off the stretch audio option.

Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated, thx!
