I have this same problem about a month ago. I also posted it in this forum. But, that's right, magically, it just fixed itself. I don't know how that happened...

I think you find it in the Welcome Pack. It's free to download. It's within this site's free downloads.

Hi guys,
I have P4-HT, 3.02 GHz, 256MB Graphics, 1GB RAM, Windows XP Home Ed, Philips DL DVD Burner, PowerDirector 4.
I've tried uninstalling everything I have in Windows and left PD4 alone, still the same result. Response to me by support is that, this is a "normal behaviour" of PD4 in capturing VOB files... I'm afraid that's true..
I'll try Jeff's suggestion.. then I'll get back with a report to you...

B,
I had this problem once. This came up when, after editing several clips in PD, for another reason, I reinstalled the product. After reinstallation, I burned the saved 'pds' files. What happens is during rendering, the PP 'took sometime' to 'recognize' the old saved pds files, which in turn, crashes the process. What I did is to open again each clip, one by one, in PD. Then burn it. Smoothly.
I have always practiced creating folders first before burning, and not direct to disc. I think this is safer. I don't think that there is quality loss, coz I cannot see any.

D,
1. I tried commercial DVDs, Home videos converted to DVDs, TV recorded shows, etc.. all the same results.
2. I've tried a lot of variations, but all the same results.
3. They were divided into 15-second chunks. Not sure how heavy each file is.
4. All are video files.
Hope you can help me solve this.
Tom is right, the transition in between clips is obvious. I've tried contacting support from Cyberlink, but they can't solve this.
Thanks

1. I think there is no way. This is same dilemma I have. Unless someone can suggest an answer?
2. In PD4, the chapter numbers continue up to the end of the number of chapters? What version are you using? Also, you can remove the chapter numbers. I just forgot how I removed them 'very simply', coz Im not at home at the moment. I'll get back to you tomorrow..

Hi Ken,
What do you mean 'selected'? Do you mean 'after dragging them in the time line?' I think the only way is to manually adjust the duration of each photo. You are correct that only those 'selected' after the change in settings will be effected by the new setting.

Hi Shawn,
Sorry, I mised it. That you are using PD5. Because I am using PD4, and Power Producer is already included in the software package.
Isn't PD5 also using Power Producer as the authoring software?
regards,

Jibsister,
That's actually what I have in mind before, but I wasn't so sure that I could get rid of this problem when I use PD5. I wasn't having this problen in PD4 trial version, but occurred after I purchased the Retail version.
But thanks to your advise..

Thanks for the advise. But running it through DVD shrink completely removes all menus. What I want to happen is to click the menu, but it does not go through the 'Select Chapter'. Like the commercial DVD movies out there..
|
|
Shawn,
You can create 2 separate menus (not chapters) in Power Producer. You can select the "Back to main menu" in the Tools/Options, so that the second menu won't play after you finished the first menu.
Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot Hauge..

Help please..
Can I make chapters in my dvd movies without necessarily passing through them in the main menu?
Does anyone has a solution to this? Thanks in advance..

Can somebody help me?
When I import DVD movie (VOB files) in PD4, they are split into several 15-secon clips?
Do you encounter this?

Rod, there really is no sound in PIP.

Hi, I know this is very simple. How can I transfer a video from my Digital Video Cam to my PC? Do I still need to buy a capture card? First time to have a Digital VCam. Thanks.. Can anyone help me please?

Hi, I dont know if this will help. Have you tried adjusting to lower resolution? Have you closed conflicting programs like msgs.exe?
|
|
Do not manually delete files in the windows explorer. Use uninstall program or Add Remove programs. Then re-install.

I used microsoft paint. Cretaed a square (the size of the resolution of your monitor), filled with color black, then save as jpeg. Import that picture into your project, use the 'fade' transition. Worked really well for me.
