Thanks Eugene and Dhnj. I saw the thread that mentioned RemuxPD and actually PM'd Jmone about it, but haven't heard back yet. Perhaps you can answer my question.

Does the new RemuxPD eliminate the need for using the fixpd9 utility? Or will I still need to run this first before using RemuxPD?

I have already produced a 1920 x 1080 60p file in PD12 that I would like to try this on. From what I have read in the various threads I am guessing these are the steps I need to go through to get to my goal.

1. Shoot video in 1920 x 1080 60p 28mb
2. Produce video to file named "produce.m2ts" using same specs.

2a. Run FixPD9 utility on "produce.m2ts" file to fix non-standard audio issue introduced by PowerDirector (<- perhaps no longer necessary?)

3. Run RemuxPD on the "produce.m2ts" file to correct any non-standard header/audio issues. Results in a file named "output.m2ts"
4. Use MultiAVCHD (free tool) to author non-compliant 1080 60p blu-ray disc using the "output.m2ts" file.
5. Use ImgBurn (free tool) to burn disc.
6. Playback your video on a newer blu-ray player or one with appropriate firmware upgrade.

Is step 2a necesary any longer? Am I missing anything else?

Almost there guys. Thanks for the help!

Dave
Hi James1,

Thanks for your reply. Here is the reference I saw (see last highlighted line from the excerpt below)-

I made several BD 60P discs using PD11. First, edit a file 1920x1080 60P H264 AVC. Then produce it as H264 AVC
with a bit rate of 28Mb.

This would be the end of it , because this file has non standard audio, however JMONE wrote a program
called FIXPD9 that will correct this problem. And yes, it is called FIXPD9 because it was written almost 2 years ago,
that is how long this error has been around.

Search this forum and you will find this program.
The file must be called PRODUCE.M2TS, it is inserted into the opened FIXPD9 program. Then FIXPD9 .bat is pushed
and following instructions, the result will be a file called OUTPUT.M2TS.

I had some problems with this, not using the file name PRODUCE.M2TS, but JMONE was kind enough to help me along.

The next program used is TsMuxer, a free program.Blu-Ray disc is checked after dragging the OUTPUT.M2TS file into it.

Before hitting the Start Muxing button a suitable location for the resulting file has to be selected.

The resulting files BDMV, CERTIFICATE, are then burned as a data disc to Blu-Ray. I use Roxio for that .

Either way, just hoping to achieve 1920 x 1080 60p and be able to play it on a newer BD player. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks again to you and Carl312 for your help.

Thanks for your reply Carl312. Since posting my first query, I ran across this thread -

http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/26291.page

It mentions creating an H.264 AVC file and then using a couple utilities to burn the appropriate files to BD as a data disc that will result in a 1920x1080 60p movie that can be played on most newer BD players. Are you familiar with this?

I would be curious if anyone else has had success with this approach.

If it is not advisable, then which of the available settings in PD12 would you recommend for creating my disc as a fall back?

Thanks for any info you can share.
Hi Folks,

New PowerDirector user here and I have a rookie question. I recently shot some video of some local youth football games in 1920x1080 60p. I have edited and rendered the first game in PD 12. The H.264 AVC file I produced has the following properties-

Bit rate - 26.21
Resolution- 1920 x1080
Frame rate - 59.94 fps
Aspect ratio - 16.9
Profile - High profile
Frame type - Progressive

I would like to burn this game to blu-ray using these settings, however in the Create Disc tab when I choose Blu-ray and H.264 the closest setting I see in the video quality/format drop down is 1920x1080 60i.

Is it possible to burn my video to BD using 1920x1080 60p? If so what do I need to select in the Create Disc tab?

If it is not possible, is this a limitation of PowerDirector? The BD standard? Or is there something else I am missing?

Bottom line is I would like to output in the same quality I shot in if possible so nothing is lost and there are no artifacts or quality issues. If playback on a standard BD player will not work using my preferred settings, then what do you recommend as my next best option?

Any help for a noob is appreciated. Thanks.

Dave
I have the same question. Did anyone ever answer this?
