Hi all...this is a general question regarding background music. I am looking for appropriate music for the sound track of a video(s) for personal use but can also if required be legal for Vimeo or Youtube. I have used some from my music files in the past without problem but am looking for a wider selection. I have looked through much of the Vimeo music store but find the tracks worthwhile are the ones with a high price tag. Looking through the selection on iTunes could takes forever. There was at one time a smartsound selection via one of the earlier Power Directors. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

The same smartsound selection should be in PD14 if you chose to install it. If you are looking for music at no cost but willing to give credit in your production then this sticky might help: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/47162.page .

Let us know if this help.

Thanks guys...yes there are some possibilities there. Will save the site. Found Smartsound far too expensive for my needs.

Hi,
A short while ago, Carl gave a link to download "free" music from YouTube. There are, as Barry has mentioned, many music sites offering you downloads, look for those governed by the Creative Commons licensing and read the license/uses which are allowed. Many of the YT music files I've seen, from Carls link, were governed by the Creative Commons license - make sure you credit the music in any video you create.

Some members may wish to place Smartsound in their favorites or get on their mailing list because they do have sales a few times a year. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Here's one Ross Bugden. I'm using his music for the end credits of our church's sermon videos. CyberPowerPC | Win7HP-64 | AMD FX-8320 3.5 Ghz | 8GB Mem | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB | WEI 5.9
