Quote tony0707: What I'm about to say, I do not mean it in an insultive or judgmental way:

I think English may not be your first language, or, the way you type it is not exactly clear and some of the meaning behind your words is getting lost on me; I don't understand.

You said, "Ok sir did you fix it yet, if not, i made it and is working as must be rigth now." Are you asking me if I fixed it on my computer and am able to play 4K discs consistently and without fail? No, I have not; I always seem to run into problems or one of the requirements in the CyberLink Ultra HD Blu-ray Advisor program "fails".

And what does that part of your sentence mean that goes "as must be rigth now"? I don't understand.

And then you said, "If you still want to fix it, led my now and i will help you step by step. with all my pleasure". Are you saying that it is working for you now? You can successfully play a 4K disc? And that you're offering to help me with step by step instructions?

Do I have all of that correct?
Pez

First, sorry for my bad english.embarassed

Second
Yes, it is working for me now the Cyberlink Power DVD, now i can play successfully a 4K disk, and i am offering to help you.

Best regards.

tony0707: You said, "I also have exactly the same problem, Some one fixed yet?" Fixed? Not quite.

As you can from this post on this forum, it's gone on & on in this thread for three pages. I thought indeed that I did have it "fixed", with much help from the other poster, triffid. What had seemed to "fix" it for me was the update of my Aorus's motherboard BIOS to F8.

I had been attempting to play the 4K disc of Star Trek (2009) after many unsuccessful attempts, and after my F8 BIOS update on my Aorus motherboard, that finally seemed to do the trick.

And triffid: my attempts at that virtual dual monitor setup never really took, never worked. Oh well.

But guess what? Back to square one.

I'll explain.

One day I went to play another 4K disc; this time it was Batman v Superman, Dawn of Justice, Ultimate Edition. I'm starting to watch the movie and then, the PowerDVD software program fails with some kind of error on the screen (I think it was 1003).

I then ran the CyberLink Ultra HD Blu-ray Advisor program, and it came back with a "fail": "Advanced Protected Audio/ Video Path". I don't know why this "fail" came up all of the sudden; I have made no hardware or software changes to my system.

And then, of course, things can only get.....worse.

I don't like using the on-board Intel HD graphics (I think their quality is inferior), so after this failure of 4K disc playback with "Batman/ Superman", I boot into my BIOS, put my initial graphics back to my EVGA GTX 1080 card, and boot to my desktop.

When I get to the desktop, a little error message template appears on-screen, something about a driver not loading properly (doesn’t specify which driver), I click on its “OK” button, and then I receive a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death). My system finally reboots after this, and it has created a “dump” file over 30GB’s in size; this is not good and I don’t like this. I have a suspicion that the error that popped up on screen (driver not loading) probably had something to do with a graphics driver (the switching I was doing back & forth with my GTX card and the on-board Intel HD graphics).

I am sick of this nonsense. This has been going on for approximately 2 months; it seems I just can't pop in a 4K disc and simply enjoy a movie. I go through multiple contacts with Cyberlink Tech Support, or, I come here and post on this forum.

Bottom line? I think this is really due to DRM and AACS (Digital Rights Management and Advanced Access Content System). The copyright protection/ encryption is so invasive and stringent that it inconveniences and frustrates legitimate/ legal owners of products that contain it.

I even contact Nvidia Tech Support (that supplies the drivers/ software for my EVGA graphics card) and asked them, "When you say your drivers/ software 'does not support discrete GPU yet', with the word "yet", does that mean there may be a point at which it is supported in the near future? Such as very soon? Maybe it's in development now?" They replied, "We do not have information about future update with GTX card with Cyberlink software support."

Basically, I've got a piece of hardware (Pioneer BDR-211UBK, the 4K UltraHD Blu-ray drive) and a software program (Cyberlink Media Suite 10 that came with the drive, or, PowerDVD 17) that I cannot use reliably, consistently, and in a steady, stable manner; it's become almost useless to me.

What fun, eh? tongue-out

Hi Sir.

I really appreciate your explanation about your case, like you, i tryed to get help from many sources, but no one bring to me a clear procedure to follow to fix this problem, but at this moment i almost fixed it by myself. (now only HDCP 2.2 in red).
If you did not fix it yet, when i finishi it, with all my pleasure, i will tell you how i made it. But as you says, is really unfair to pay money for something, trying to do the things on the right way and it simply does not work.

Once again, thanks so much to share your experience with us.

Good luck.

Quote Are all the lines in the UHD Advisor report in green?
This is strange, you seem to have everything you need. The monitor is OK, although it is barely a HDR monitor with only 350 cd/m2. Not recommended value.

I do not know what this error message means. But you may try to:
Update Intel ME
Update Intel VGA driver
Install Gigabyte HDMI utility

Is SGX in BIOS set to Enabled, not Software controlled?
Did you ever play any UHD disc or not?
Did the online initiation took place? (If not, are you connected?)
Does PowerDVD do something before the error message? Does it load the disc at least?
Is your HDMI cable 2.0 certified?
Is PowerDVD the last thing installed?

I can play uhd downloaded from internet but not original uhd disks. The error is E8800708.I have the system all upgraded and the advisor report all green...I make also a reset of motherboard and make clean installation of windows 10 pro and power dvd...
In the Advisor I have all green;Intel ME is updated and also Intel VGA driver:Ihave installated the Gigabyte HDMI utlity; In BIOS SGX is enabled not software controlled;I can play UHd disc donwloaded from internet(full UHD) but not originals UHD disk with error 8800708(All original UHD disks);I make initiation onlinetook place;I use hdmi cable high speed with ethernet channel and I have the last official version of power dvd 17 ultra...Then?

Ok sir:

Thanks so much for your answer.
Lets go step by step:

I am conecting the screen in the integrated cpu Intel graphics (INTEL 630).

INTEL SGX TECNOLOGY (CPU/MOTHERBOARD) IN RED
INTEL MANAGEMENT ENGINE SOFTWARE (IN RED TO)
ALL OTHERS ITEMS IN GREEN.

INTEL ME ENGINE- UPDATE
INTEL VGA DRIVER- UPDATE
INTEL GYGABITE HDMI utility-UPDATE.

HDMI CABLE 2- FULL CERTICATE
ALSO INSTALLED AT LAST THE POWER DVD ULTRA WITH ALL THE PATCHES.(Instalation is online).
Whe i try to reproduce an UHD Blu Ray movie disk (not file). the disk strat to run, the appears a legend says; Power DVD is installing the packages necesaries to reproduce UHD Blu Ray Movies (It only make once this instalation). The appears the error:
INTEl SGX TEGNOLOGY IS NOT ACTIVATE, INSTALL THE INTEL MANAGEMENT ENGINE. But it is allready installed and the GSX Tecnology is also activate in the Bios (not software controlled).
THIS IS REALLY EXTRANGE. Any idea?
Acept your sugestion about this

Thanks you very much.
Quote Please read this thread, I am too lazy to repeat everything again for you:
https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/64121.page

CyberLink gave you The Advisor, now it is up to you to meet the requirements. So do not ask what is wrong with PDVD because the answer is nothing. Ask what is wrong with your mobo, BIOS, Intel SGX, Intel ME, HDMI, HDCP etc.
Another problem may be in you, because if you wrote "I tried everything", it is obvious you did not. Building a PC is not a job for everyone.

Oh so sorry for it

I followed all the post. But acording to your answer, i can see now your system is running nice, with no problems about it.
Who is lazy to see the way how you answer is me.
How many many money pay to you Cyberlink to answer in this way?????
This is not the way to help the people.
Quote Did you even bother to read this thread before asking???

Oh, thanks so much for you answer. I am very happy to hear to this software works fine for you. for me, is really a pain in may head.
If you what to help my to fix this problem, i will aprecitate your help. If not sorry for make to you to waist yout time like i made it trying to run this program propertly (more than one week).

Once again, thanks so much, and so sorry.
[quotePostId=297643][quotePostId=297201][quotePostId=296751]The software is already outdated, with no update in sight! Some of the newest blu-ray disks just released by the biggest movie studios do not play using "power" dvd17. They should rename it to pukeDVD17. Also, their "support team" takes forever plus 2 weeks to get a reply to you.[/quotePostId]

mine works finei have 77 blu-ray collection from ant-man to warcraft, menu fine, uninstall and delete folder, and reboot, clean reinstall, should solve.[/quotePostId]

I have error 8800708 when I play my uhd disks. Can you help me?The advisor is ok and I reset my motherboard(Gigabyte aourus gaming 9 z270x).I make a clean installation of my pc and power dvd.,thank you.[/quotePostId]

Hello sir:
Wellcome to the jungle. I have the same problem, with almost the same motherboard (mine is gaming 8). I tryed everythik posible with this issue. Piece of crap software.
Hi everybody:

First i want to show my frustration with this software. I has been customer from more tham 8 years.
I tryed all the configurations posibles.
I just payd more than $1.000 updating my PC for play UHD Bluray Movies and the software is unuseless.

Over this, the customers support is the worse at all.

Hardware & Software:
PIONEER BDR-211UBK
INTEL I5 7500
GIGABYTE AOURUS Z280X GAMING 8 bios F9a
CORSAIR VENGEANCE 16GB DDR4 3000MHZ
SONY XBR-55X930D
WINDOWS 10 X64 HOME
POWER DVD 17 ULTRA.

I re-istalled my OS two times from 0.
Update all software to last patch (PD 17).
UHBD advisor :
Intel Management (ME) engine not installed. (installed).
SGX protection not activated (Bios Activated).

Please some one who have the answer for it or fixed yet. because the customers support does not exist at all.

Best regards.cryyellcryyell
Quote Hello all.

From my Subject line, I'm thinking of purchasing the internal drive from Pioneer for 4K UHD disc playback, the Pioneer BDR-211UBK.

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Computer/Computer+Drives/BDR-211UBK

Here are my system specs:

Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit

Motherboard: Aorus GA-Z270X-Gaming 8 (BIOS version F4)

CPU: Intel Core i7, 7700K; 4.20GHz

RAM: Corsair Vengeance, 32GB

GPU: EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX 1080 SC

Monitor: LG Ultra HD 4K, 27UD58; 27 inch

I ran the little program available here from Cyberlink, the Ultra HD Blu-ray Advisor; according to the "official" results from this program, I do Not Pass the test.

One of the items that I do not pass on - the UHD-BD Optical Disc Drive - yes, I understand: I don't have that in my system yet!! That's the item I'm considering buying! wink

But let me show you a screen-capture shot of my results, then I'll ask for your input:

http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll217/PezzyDude/Cyberlink-UltraHD-Advisor_zpsnaldysiq.jpg

From the picture, one of the items listed as "Not Available" is "HDCP 2.2 (GPU/ Display)". From my system specs I listed above, both my GPU and display monitor are compliant, yes?

Also listed as "Not Available" is "Advanced Protected Audio/ Video Path (GPU)"; why would that be? I'm using the Display Port cable to go from my graphics card to my monitor.

And the other? Optical Disc Drive? Yes, like I mentioned above, that's the item I'm considering purchasing, so, no, it's not in my system yet.

But from the information I've provided here, should my system be able to play UHD 4K Blu-ray discs?

Thanks for any help & info,

Pez

Hello sir: I have the same problem as you, with almosts the same configurationand components, i also made all the changes sugested here, only my prosessor is I5 7500. and i having the same issue. Did you fixit yet????

Hello: I also have exactly the same problem, Some one fixed yet????????
Hello all:

Also i am having exatly the same problem wit my power dvd 16

in windows 10 x64
Quote So I bought I couple of new movies recently and I sit down to watch them and I get this new pop up deal blocking me from watching the movies I paid for. Both of them.

This pop up is demanding an access code. I paid for the Power DVD software. I even upgraded from 14 to 16 thinking this would be a fix. Nope.

I have two options. One is to obtain the code and the other is to retry the internet.

Reading the FAQ this box should never even show up. It is supposed to automatcially access the net for this code. I am connected, this is the same PC as I am posting this on and I have a number of other programs from a minecraft server to OBS for twitch streaming all working just fine. This is clearly a software issue with Power DVD that was broken in 14 and not fixed by 16.

I want software that works, that isn't going to inconvience me or my entertainment. Fix your shit!

I can't find any settings in the software that would fix this either.

Who do i send the bill to for the cost of the Movies I can't watch and get ALL my money back for the power DVD software I PAID FOR that doesn't work now. I am NOT going to be searching for some damn code every time I want to watch a movie. Not even the first time. I'll go and download all my movies and use VLC Player. It's free and it works.

I can register the product just fine BTW so clearly there is an ability for the software to connect to the web.
YES, I DIDT BUT IT DOES NOT WORK.
STIL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM

I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS.
