I allready have a seperate sony 3d bluray player. Works fine . However so should powerdvd. But guess ATI and cyberlink is having problems... Must be serious though, since its like 1,5 months since I made this post!
Back from vacation. No fix yet?
Same problem with the new catalyst 11.6 released today and PowerDVD 11. Howcome catalyst 11.4 and PowerDVD 10 worked fine togheter?
Checkboard worked. But did not switch my tv into 3D mode. So not really much use. I need to work again. I guess its catalyst 11.5b then.
Im going to try it when I get home. But its not a permanent resolution. Here is what chekerboard is:

Checkerboard halves the resolution of the image.
It's like a modern version of interlaced 3D but slighly better quality, yet it can't rival full resolution 3D.
Update: I tried to connect pc directly to tv again: Same problem: 3d didnt work (used to before with earlier catalyst driver).

Attaching realtime info when connected directly to the tv and realtime info when connected through samsung. Taken with moninfo. I renamed the inf files to txt
Attaching dxdiag as promised.
Amp model is: Pioneer SC-LX73 (US name Pioneer Elite SC-35).

I'll post dxdiag tomorrow when I get back home.
Trying to watch a 3D bluray. It will not work through a new pioneer hdmi 1.4 receiver. Update: Connected directly to TV does not work either. My standalone Sony S570 bluray player does not have this problem when connected through receiver.

PowerDVD 11 gives the message "Cyberlink PowerDVD could not enable 3D playback. Try choosing a different 3D display device." Using ATI Catalyst 11.5b driver. ATI 6950 graphics card.

Attaching the debug log from your latest BD & 3D advisor. It says everything ok when connected through receiver.
Does anyone know where we can get the bitstreaming beta version? Thx in advance.
Will this update allow bitstreaming for my new 5870?
Thank you cyberlink for no answer. Ill look for another product then.
If I buy PowerDVD 9 can I instal it on three computers I have at home? Will that work? Is it legal?

Thx in advance.
I solved it by installing the Realtek 2.02 vista driver for the motherboards builtin realtek soundcard even though Im not using it. Still using Realtek 2.0 for ATI HDMI.
After upgrading to catalyst 8.8 PowerDVD 8 gives zero sound no matter what i try to play in it. Still using Realtek ATI HDMI driver version 2.0. All other apps in windows, media player, windvd etc works fine.

I can still choose HDMI PCM and AC3/DTS passthrough. But 0 sound.

Go figure. This software is to fragile imo.

Maybe its part microsofts fault (for not making a good hdmi driver) and part cyberlink for not following the HDMI standards (according to Intel).

Vista x64 SP1 all updates + latest directx.
Onkyo 805 receiver.
Good news. After a format of my computer i can now use hdmi pcm out both with powerdvd 7.3/hd-dvd and powerdvd 8/blu-ray.
Quote: The previous version of PowerDVD does not support HDMI audio output.

Then how am i supposed to get audio from HD-DVD?
Everything works good with PowerDVD 8 and ATI 4850. In powerDVD 8 I can choose HDMI PCM or ac3/dts passthrough and both works fine. Blu-ray works fine.

However PowerDVD 7.3 Ultra build 4102 dosent give me any audio. No matter if I choose HDMI, 2 speaker or 6 speaker. I dont even get audio when playing a mp3 file. I need PowerDVD 7.3 Ultra to play HD-DVDs. Anyone got a clue?

Thx in Advance.

OS: Vista x64 SP1
HDMI AUDIO Driver: Realtek 1.97
ATI Catalyst Driver: Latest
Onboard Sound: Disabled
Receiver: Onkyo 805 (using hdmi)
Setting it to speakers and using analog cabling solves the problem.

But why the heck will spdif cause a stuttering picture? It worked fine in earlier versions (but since 3730 it stopped working). Other applications work fine with spdif.

Vista X64 SP1
Powerdvd ultra 3730a
Realtek ALC889A, R189 driver
Anyone got a clue? Thx in advance
sorry double post
