Hi all, as per tittle - cant add background image in create disc menu.
1.create disc tab - menu preference tab
2.create menu
3.top left upper tab ( 1 of 4) : SET BACKGROUND IMAGE OR VIDEO
4.chose image then : OK
5.next tab: CROP - LETTER BOX or STRETCH
6.have tried all 3 options in step 5 - no image shows in work space.
When i chose this option - my image - have tried many images - nothing shows in the work space on the right hand side

Hello fellow users, this is what happens, im running PD10 without problems on a WINDOWS 7 64bit machine, the fault was noticed about OCT/NOV 2015.
The system has worked fine wit out any issues.
Problem:
1- pc tower wiped clean - windows 7 reloaded, no other s/w whats so ever added.
2- load full PD10 & s/n from disc and follow all prompts & restarts etc.
3-capture video, trim,chapter, take snap shots in the edit - all works fine then save - all fine.
4- create a disc tab, open - says go online to activate etc or run in trial mode for 30days.
5. trial mode: add background image - any size - any format ( not the add picture image) - and it then loads in the work area - I can see the image and adjust modify etc no problem, add tittles then burn to disc in 2D without ay problems.
6. disc now in to DVD player - I have tittle page & chapter page showing my chosen image, click play and I can watch the video.
ALL GOOD to this point.
7. go back to step 5 - create a disc - import a background image - the s/w ask me to go online to activate this facility, so I click the activate link prompted by the PD10 programme, it does what it has to do and says successful.
8. now I chose a jpg to add as a background image and chose either stretch or letter box etc - exactly what I have been doing for past 3-4yrs - wait for image to load in work area, the greyed out forward and backwark left & right arrows are now bold useable because the picture is there BUT !!! this is the problem, the picture is not showing in the work area, and if I save as a template to show in the list of templates on the left hand side of screen , it save with blank black screen - not the art work just loaded.
9.i presume that - I will have to unload and reload my s/w every 30days to use - ir appears that PD10 is no longer compatible with windows 7.
Im pulling my hair out with this - I don't want to go and buy PD14 etc and find I have the same issue because its not compatible with WINDOWS 7 64bit

Well, the next step - as not getting anywhere with PD10 - wipe pc clean, reinstall windows etc and start fresh, and see what happens

not sure if this will work - PD10 - windows 7 - no previous problems - complete remove reinstall PD10.
Go to create menue - take blank template - clear tect the YELLOW circle on Left - add background image - chose picture and add.
The 2 foward & return arrows greyed out not ready for use, when picture is added in eother of the 3 available crop/strecth etc modes, the picture is added and the UNDO arrow YELLOW cirlce left is highlighted, but clearly the work area shows no input image.
Save the project to produce a template on the left side, the newly created template is blank i can not see what picture was used etc, if i open the newly created template or click on it and look at either apply to all or modify etc, the chapter & root pages are still blank no picture.
I have never come across this issue before - my concern is its not a problem with disc etc but with my pc ?

cant seem to add any screenshots from my pc- so will try a complete reinstall and see where I go from there .

The green marker line can mean that your video is being pre rendered. That can be because you have a hardware or video driver change. It may be a setting in your Prefs/Hardware acceleration.
The video rendering line - yes - says buffering while running etc . never seen before so can only assume maybe a clash with a automatic woindows update etc - hence why im thinking of wiping my tower clean and a reinstall etc.

Hi friends, no issues in the past, currently on windows 7 64bit.
I have removed PD from my tower, closed down & restarted & fresh install - fault still present.
Create DISC -menu preferences - set background image ( for dvd root page etc)
1- i can no longer import a picture to set " back ground image on ROOT or CHAPTER page " - when added the work area stays black with no image showing what i have just added.
2- i add a picture form my files in thesecond icon and then stretch manually then save as a test template, i then chose the test template and open - the small screen showing ROOT & CHPTER page are both black - no image work.
3- i have also noticed - in the work edit area after the film section has been added, on the time secound line etc - i know have a green marker line present.
Do we think this may be a fault on my tower - windows 7 s/w - as i have reinstalled PD beofre when i have had issues and everty thing is ok - but when i reinstall i can not build any disc templates
I would love some views and comment on this please, to help understand if a issue on my toweror s/w etc

Hello Friends,
I have used my cam corder for a family day out, all footage transfered to PD10 ok, but 1 section for some reason has picked up some back ground interferrance buzzing noise.
I have played with the "fix/enhance" button with stationary,wind & clicking noise", but i cant remove the buzz interferrance noise, i have read the book, but still no joy, cant see how to dull out/remove the frequency buzz noise.
Any good video links ? or can some one advise on how i can alter the buzz intereferrance noise ?

 i got that many bits of A4 paper lying round with what i did, wrote everything down, not sure if i eventually did what you said Jamie, but thank you anyway, i kept missing the produce option.
I have used video files imported into PD10, added to my time line, added a picture at the start complete with transition, added a tittle frame to the end all looking good , editing done ... into 'produce' option, settings - MPEG2, DVD SP, FVRTechnology & Dolby Digi 5.1 then 'start' etc for this test.
Then into 'create' ...... in create disc there are 4 tabs (content/menu/2D & 3D) - I missed  the 'setting the video encoding format ... ' etc , now set at SP standard quality and the DVD disc symbol bottom corner of screen clearly showing well within burn / dvd space etc  .
Next is to do complete process with PD from capture - edit - produce & create , there's a lot of nice things in this programme, just get use to the baisc 1st
Just need to bin all my notes and rewrite some simple notes to keep

Hi Steve K, i am currently well pleased with ULEAD as i can edit save and burn up to 2hours video no problem, but it the finesse of being able to add a nice menu page is why i have gone with PD10.
Think you have hit the nail on the head there ..... 'bit rate' I assuming that i can access this bitrate within PD10 and alter, any idea which way i alter ? ... increase or decrease etc.
divX - XVid ? are these extra programmes wit in PD10 ? Sorry for such simple questions, yes im new to this product, been using ULEAD for about 6 months now, and using PD10 for about 1 month.
With ULEAD, i make my video's, save then using DVDFLICK to burn them as i was finding windows dvd maker wouldnt burn the larger 1.75hr footages. DVDFLICK has a couple of templates but no good for what i want to do.

Hi, already been down user guide and read the book that came with the software, experimenting now with a 5 minute vid footage, using ulead then import into pd10 and see what happens.
Update, to add 210mb of simple video footage to the time line with no tittles, no transition, no fancy gimmicks to make the work piece look nice ! , when you go to produce/create, your work is automatically increased to 3.53mb, so to sum up in this exercise, i am assuming that you can only burn 1 hr of video footage probably with no fancy tittles to 1 x 4.7gb dvd

update: i set my pd10 to capture video (1.5hr long) in dvd setting DVD SP, i then edited it, cut off the front & rear frames with no pictures,and saved project at various points so i didnt lose my work.
The video size is now 1.35gb, i have taken some screen pc shots which will post up shortly.
So i have captured & editted, i then went to CREATE, menu preference - no menu and the dvd symbol bottom right now shows this video size is 6032mb/4700mb, time length 1.33.50, so as you can see will clearly not fit onto a normal DVD.
So i then went to PRODUCE - standard 2D and saved as MPEG2, profile DVD SP, time 1.33.50.24 and clicked START, so this produced a video of 2.4gb on my pc, i now ask myself will 2.4gb fit a 4.7gb dvd ?.
So do we think i should copy my video's using ULEAD, add all my tittles and triming there and then import the full project into PD and create a menu/disc ?????? , pretty sure i already tried this, i takes my 1.35gb etc video and increases it to 6000+gb, and if i use a template included in the PD10 software the 6000 value will increase.
A simple question again ... you can buy books, guide to windows etc for dummies, does anyone know who does a book for PD10, this software was bought 3 weeks ago, brand new for £80 in a well know branded shop, currently disappointed with it, i wish to copy my videos to dvd and it seems that PD10 cant do it.

Thanks for the views, i imported a video to the pd10 programme and placed it on the time line, i right clicked to find its properties and it showed as 1.35gb, once i done my required editing, i moved to create disc, i did not use the produce option at all.IN create disc, on the bottom left corner it showed 6023mb/4700mb, so it clearly showed that for some reason my footage had increased somehow and that was without using any of the nice fancy templates.
So produce is probably what i should be doing, so the stages i should follow are - 1.capture/import 2.edit 3.produce.
Then when i have produced and saved accordingly, then go to create an see what happens ? ....... off to experiment

Hi all, struggling with powerdirector 10 , a very simple exercise,saved a 1.5hr video footage via powerdirector, trimmed it, and added to time line, footage size 1.35gb, then move to create dvd etc, and the little chart on bottom right of screen clearly shows the filmed footage to be 6023mb and shows my blank dvd is 4700mb and then clearly states it will not burn.
So does any one have any views on this ? to me it seems i can not burn or create any dvds of my video footage ?, opinions would be greatly appreaited.
I bought powerdirector 10 so i could utilise the tittle menu pages, but it seems this purchase a waste of time ?
Any help greatly appreiated before i give up on this .........

Hi Tony, i like your simplified pictures about templates which i think is the clue to what i am trying to do, every time i make a template with my tittle all works good in preview, as soon as i save it reverts back to my tilttle choice and the preset text 'my video's' etc, so i am now guessing, that i change the tittle to what i want before i burn and NOT to save the page etc as the preset my video tittle will reappear ... off to do some more experimenting

Thank you for the input guys, its appreaited, i only bought PD so i could make my own templates, i've played with what you have shown and added my own text and saved etc but the preset 'my videos' kept over writing what i added and when i kept previewing my template, it kept playing with a modern upbeat tempo tune, which i couldnt turn off, even clicking on the remove music tab, it still played music, i will try again gents, thank you

Hi all, new here, i have been copying videos with a different s/w programme but now require to make better quality templates, so i purchased PD 10 ultra 64.
The topic appears to have been mentioned ... but im missing something ..... PD10 is obviously for experts, so i will step back, i make a root template and view it, it works, i make chapter templates aswell, view an they work, try an save an it saves as the original template with text titles over writing what i have done and has annoying music that cant be removed.
So i am here, after buying this product with 2 questions ..... 1-is there a template i am missing on PD10 for ourselves to modify for our needs ..... and 2- a link to a good simple instructional guide rather the the included book with the s/w that does not answer or help with my problem ?
