In my quest for working codecs and non-standard screen-sizes, I'm now wondering if the PD9 Ultra 32 bit version can be installed in Win7 64bit Ultimate?
I did reinstall PD8 but I cant find my PD8 key so using that option is out now.
OK, I tried a couple things. I do already have the full paid and registered version of DivX Pro. I uninstalled it and deleted all left over divx directories then reinstalled it. After reinstallation, the registration says it is registered.
I updated PD9 to 9.0.0.2330 which was released in the last couple days.
I rebooted the computer (Windows 7 Ultimate).
I started PD9, it did update sucessfully as it does show the correct version.
I opened the project I'm testing with, a m2ts video, no edits, just trying a 'simple' recoding.
Selected the .AVI file format with the Windows-AVI Profile Type.
All three selectable profiles only allow "No compressor" for the "Compression codec"; totally flippin' useless!
I was very satisfied with PD8 and was even recommending it as the video editor I considered as the most stable and flexible comsumer grade editor.
I gladly switched to PD9 when it was advertised assuming the 64bit version would add speed to a great product.
What an errored assumption!
I'm trying to do a single 4:3 conversion to play in a photo frame. AVI would appear to be the most acceptable format to use. It would be great if it would accept a Mega-GIG file because I also am having the "No Compressor" option as the only AVI compression option.
PD8 handled my DivX encoding with no problem. Now, I'm needing to find PD9 methods that might give me similar quality and sizes in video conversions.
Not pleased. I'm beginning to think I need to uninstall PD9 and see if I can get PD8 working again. At this time I cannot recommend PD9 64Ultra to anyone.
