Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked a billion times, but I didn't see a search option for this specific forum.

Anyway, I have been editing a short film on PD8 for the last 6 months, without much trouble. However, I am currently running into a problem with audio syncing that was never an issue before. Whenever I try to play my uploaded footage that I have transferred into the film's timeline, the audio completely loses synchronization with the footage. Any idea how I can fix this?

My set-up:

Windows 7
ATI Radeon HD 4350 (512MB)
6GB DDR3 RAM
Intel Quad Core Q8200
640GB HDD

Again, I stress that I have never encountered these problems before.
Hi, I get this error when I try to add a audio track.

"cyberlink powerdirector could not construct the media source as a graph. This may be due to a lack of decoding filters for the file you are trying to edit."

Anyone else with this problem?

I'm using the pd8 program. My dvd disk is a copy of old 8MM home movies and saved as .VOB by a professional . I'm trying to shorten the film and burn to my CD recorder as .avi or .mpeg1 or .mov with no results.
Bought today POWERDVD10 de luxe.
when trying to play .avi file I see the film however without voice.
Other video files played sucsessfully.

What can be the problem ?

Thank You
Israel
Hi All, I am thinking of buying a Canon XL 2 Camera, as this camera will just about take all my money I dont really want to have to upgrade to a different Editing system. So could I still use my PD. Also with my little sony camcorder it downloaded as individual clips, So how would a tape download? is it downloaded as a full length tape or in clips?
Your help would be much appreciated.....................Pete.
Using: WINDOWS XP Home Edition, ram 1mb 2.6 processor

A created CD using .VOB FILE and recorded as .AVI or MPEG1 or .MOV will not play in any player or computer. The CD disk records 4 files; they are... .EXT, .SEGMENT, .VCD and .MPEGAV. I have tried burning .AVI .MPEG1 and .MOV disk. I have setup Produce many different ways. The subfile of .MPEGAV (AVSEQ01) will play on Win. Media Player if I manually pick (AVSEQ01). Most members seem to think creating a saved folder is the answer. Also Create Folder will not highlight for a choice, in Create Disk, even when I uncheck Create Disk. Will a program reload get me a Create Folder highlight? Dxdiag. Checks out OK.

Hi adlawford,

I never had PD7 so I cannot comment on that, however using PD8 I have exactly the same results as you.
I tried to correct the problem by all the known means available and never succeeded.
Why rendering hi res photos in DVDHQ degrades them so much is still a mystery to me.

To get quality results, I gave up trying to produce DVDs and instead now produce 1920 x 1080 mpg or M2TS files.
These are then playable on the PC or on a HiDef Media Player connected to HDTV.
The results can then be quite stunning, however not sharable with family and friends like a std def DVD would be.

Good luck .... regards Patrick
Normally I run a true 720p, but i was doing some special testing at the end when i had given up on it working.

I have set the resolution back to 720p, rebooted the computer, started up media center, told media center to redetect the new display and resolution of 720p.

I started a test tis morning, but had to get my butt to work. During that test i was not fully paying 100% attention as i was getting ready for work. I will try to talk the family into watching something tonight, but after last night (which was the worst it had ever done) i might not win and get overruled.

Could someone detail the steps in the "produce" mode that would allow a video to be uploaded to Vimeo or YouTube. I've tried producing video in the various formats, but none can be uploaded to Vimeo or YouTube. Thank you.
No thanks to you Cap'n
Which OS are you using at the moment?
Which Audio hardware and driver are you using?

I keep forgetting to scan for a post from you containing your hardware and software list....
That is strange. Try downloading and installing the demo to see if you get the same result. For me, the demo worked fine with no error messages. I was then able to just enter my password and turn the demo into a registered version of Power2Go.
Am I just missing something, or has the Search tool been eliminated from the forum?
I am having the same problem as well. I made no changes to my Power2Go setup so if this many people are having a problem, why do I believe Microsoft download something that screwed up Power2Go.

I tried ignoring the message and actually using the program and it still works. I was able to burn files on my hard drive to a DVD with the error window just sitting there. Exited the program and then clicked the error message. Once I realized this it became an annoyance.

I own the disc legally, and what I do with it is nobody's d***** business by my own, as long as I'm not giving copies away, or selling copies.

I'm sure I'm not the only one doing this, and I do it mostly to learn, and for my own entertainment.
Good to know, but i will run it through a translator to see if its any of the problems i have encountered.

I have an MPEG2 file I ripped from a DVD. The file is simply a copy - not re-encoded - and it plays perfectly. However, the file has a black border all the way around, as does the original DVD.

I can crop the video in PowerDirector 8, and save the result, and the resulting video is exactly what it should be - no border. However, the audio starts in sync, but, by the end of the video, the audio is out of sync by a full second or more.

I've tried saving in different formats. I've tried ripping the original file in different formats - nothing works. Other files I've done come out correctly.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
How do i output my project as an imagefile. I use to do it with Ulead videostudio, but with PD i cant figure it out. Plaese help..
