Am I just missing something, or has the Search tool been eliminated from the forum?

I was wondering the same thing. I notice the spacing format has changed as well. Q9300 2.5 GHz

Hi James,

Me too. As a matter of fact, I posted the original question here, but it made me Anonymous.
And even though I'm not a big fan of the Novice -to- Senior Contributor labels that we are assigned (as they are for the most part meaningless), I also notice posts where a member has 2 or 3 posts attributed to them, yet they hold a Senior Contributor status.
Are you still getting email notifications James? I only get them sporadically now.

I was wondering who the new Anonymous poster was....very prolific...dives right into lots of topics!!

Maybe Mr. Anonymous is GETTING HIS EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS OF A RESPONSE TO POST!!!

By the way Carsten...you are anonymous!! aren't you?

Hi Carsten,

Did you notice that we are not senior contributors any more, but senior members.

Time for DAFYDD to intervene to uphold our status, or we will all go on strike and boycott the forum.

Show of hands lads

Robert

Hi Robert,

One step forward, two steps back, I guess.
But no Search tool in this new and improved forum? At least the DirectorZone forum still has a Search tool. It hasn't worked in over a year and a half, but at least they still have one. Click here PDtoots for a collection of PowerDirector Tutorials and Tips

R&D will deal with the ability to post Anonymously on here. The search function will take a little longer to fix, I'm assured it will be.

Well apparently we can now post without logging in and that gives the anonymous post. The forum is also now listing the posts by most recent instead of date like they used to. Q9300 2.5 GHz

James,

Your 700+ messages are gone too if you look at your profile, you only have a couple of days worth. What a disaster.

If you post after logging in it will display the total number of posts. As of this message it should be 718. Q9300 2.5 GHz

Not the count under your name, go to your profile and try to read a message that you posted 6 months or so ago, they are not there.

Yes, you are correct. It provides enough pages for all my posts but most of them are empty. Q9300 2.5 GHz

I assume you include these issues as 6 of the current issues to put aside…
1) The fact that most all our past posts appear to be gone?
2) The fact that a vast and valuable library of past posts and information is now apparently gone?
3) The fact that some members had written up some very useful and detailed answers and explanations to frequently asked questioned, that can no longer be found as there is no longer a Search feature?
4) The fact that anyone can post anything without even having to log in, or have an account, thus no accountability for their behavior on the forum.
5) That fact that all unregistered posters have the Anonymous users name, so one doesn’t know who is who?
6) The fact that everyone is Senior Member now, even with only 2 posts to their credit (which may have been fixed now)

But what are the top 6 improvements you like? What are the improvements I’m missing and that I haven’t found yet?

Hey Guys, Look on the bright side, biblically speaking, maybe this is the Garden of Eden where we can all start again?

Alternatively and more scientifically, following from a previous post on quantum mechanics - long forgotten - actually on the DZ forum (therefore never to be found again) maybe this is a portal to a parallel universe.

Alternatively and more prosaically, it's probably just bad implementation of a simple task, quelle surprise.

My name is not Anonymous, I'm Spartacus (from the 1960 film) (aka Adrian) (sorry, thought I should make that clear - just to cover all bases)
