Thanks for the replies. Like I said I was just hoping it could do it. The reason I figured it might be able to is because there are all the custom Magic Movie Wizard templates that do all kind of "automated" functions. So I figured that if I design one properly maybe I could make it do what I was hoping. The wizard makes nice stuff, but it doesn't show me anything where if I put 5 clips in, it will show all 5 clips in their entirety. It just takes segments from them each. Or maybe I just didn't try the correct one??
Well if someone comes up with something maybe they will post it somewhere on the forum or the DirectorZone.
Thanks again everyone.

Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me. I just got PowerDirector 14. I love the features and capabilities of the software. There is one thing that I was hoping to be able to do simply. I have tons of videos I wish to make into DVD’s. I wanted to make a simple template (so to speak), so that I can just select the videos (import them) and then have PowerDirector automatically create a chapter for each video, then basically create the DVD. I know I can do this stuff manually, but I wanted it to work something like the magic movie wizard, where you just select the videos and powerdirector does the rest. I have not found a Magic Movie wizard that plays all the videos uninterrupted. It seems the Wizard makes really cool effects but video clips are random, etc. (unless I’m doing something wrong). So is there any way for me to set up something where it just asks me for the videos, then it automatically just creates the chapters and menus and then it is ready to be burned? At this point I could change the titles, etc. I have so many videos to burn and I don’t care about making each one unique with different menus, etc. Any help would really be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary

so you are saying to
1. Make a new profile as described above
2. Add videos to timeline
3. Go to PRODUCE and select the new profile
4. PRODUCE to MPEG2 (which saves the video as a .MPG)
5. Then CREATE DISK with the newly created .MPG???
Thanks again for the help. I didn't think I even needed to do anything with PRODUCE if I was just making a DVD.

Sorry but I don't see the tutorials at all. They are blank.

I tried burning the DVD to the harddrive with MPEG2, which worked, but the size of the folder was still over 6 gig, which is the same as what it said it would be. So I don't know how that is going to fit on a 4.7 gig disk which was suggested.
I don't know how to create a new HQ profile with a lower bitrate. Of course I haven't looked into that yet at all or anything related to SVRT.
Any further description would be helpful.
Thanks,
Gary

I will also try this. So this will scroll on top of running video then? That would be great.

I will have to try that. I'm starting with an MTS file which is what I use for Windows Live Video maker also.
Thanks for the quick response!

I'm using PD10 DELUXE which I just bought. I created a movie to burn to a regular DVD (NON BLUE RAY). I also created the same movie using Windows Live Movie Make and Windows DVD maker. The movie I created using Windows Live Movie Maker fit on a single 4.7 gig dvd, but when I created the same movie with PD10 Deluxe (No special menu's etc or extras) the move was roughly 6.5 gig (HQ encoding). Now if I burn with SMART FIX encoding it fits, but the picture quality is bad. Now if I burn with HQ -Best Quality it doesn't fit (6.5 gig) but the picture is equivalent to Windows Live Movie Maker. How is it that Windows Live Movie Make, which is completely free, can burn that movie to a 4.7 gig dvd with much better video quality than PD 10. Or is there some secret/hidden option to help with this?
Thanks,
Gary

I was trying to add a scrolling/moving text to the beginning of each of my scenes of my movies. So when you go to a chapter via the menu, text shows on the screen (over top the movie) for say 10-15 seconds to describe the scene. I think I figured out that you have to use SUBTITLES for that (again I think). However it seems they are stationary. Is there a way to make them move like you can in other software?
I'm using PD 10 DELUXE.
Thanks,
Gary

I just recently bought PD 10 Deluxe. I created a few movies to watch on dvd players and windows. The basic setup is I have is 3 chapters per screen. Now if I click on a chapter to watch it it works fine. Now using the DVD remote I click on the NEXT button, which with all regular dvd's and others I've created with other software, it skips to the start of the next chapter. This is not working. The PREVIOUS button will take me to the start of the current chapter I'm on as expected. However, as with other dvds if you press it more than once it will start to skip to the beginning of previous chapters.
FYI - even if I use a PC/Windows DVD software player, these functions don't work properly either.
Any ideas on this? Am I doing something wrong? I've used the default menu that comes with PD 10 and even tried making my own.
Also I'm just burning a Regular DVD. My computer is a Pentium I5, etc with plenty of juice.
Any help would really be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary
