Thanks for the info!!
I already purchased PD10 Ultra, but then after looking for a good BluRay player I come across the Media Suite.
|
|
The PD10 included in Media Suite Ultra, is it PD10 Ultra or PD10 Deluxe?
(It only states Power Director)

I'll give that a go. So by dropping a *.MTS file directly into the timeline does some type of compression from the get-go?
|
|
Thanks, that helps the preview. But my rendered videos are still not HD. Is that just the nature of try to burn AVCHD to a DVD?
|
|
Hopefully this is a clue.
When I import the file and play it directly, it looks perfect.
If I drag the clip into the timeline it turn to junk.
Am I missing a setting in the time line?

I am recording with a Canon HF M52 in the highestquiality mode.
In the burn section I am selecting AVCHD @ 1920X1080 60i

Thanks for the reply. I will read the suggested threads and post back.

HD newb.
I am recording with a Canon M52, using the highest quality setting.
I do some very basic editing in PD10.
Then render to AVCHD on DVD-R, tried 60i and 24p, both look lower res, pixelated, with digital trailing artifacts.
I'm I missing something stupid?

Just a follow up, this appears to be legit.
I found the same deal here which is basically the same company and downloadcrew is listed as an authorized seller for Cyberlink.

So, any opinions?
Who thinks Media Expresso 6.5 is worth $10.
Who thinks Media Expresso 6.5 is not worth it?
And does anybody think Media Expresso 6.5 is not even worth installing for free??
As I said, I know I am beating this to death, just that I amn new to the forum and new to video editing.

|
I have the trial version of PD9. If I go to "Buy Now" it directs me to CyberLink with a special offer to purchase PD9 Ultr64 for $95 and they include Media Expresso 6.5 for free.
Link to Offer
So just wondering if it worth the extra $10.
I know I am probably way over thinkg this, but that usual happens anytime I am about to spend more that $20!!
|
|
Amazon and Newegg has PD9 Ultr64 for $85 (USD)
However, if I purchase direct from CyberLink it is $95 and includes MediaEspresso 6.5
Is MediaEspresso 6.5 worth the extra $10?
Looking for some opinions.
Thanks!

Thanks for the responses.!! I really appreciate it.
I see I have a bit of reading up to do.
Probably a dumb question, but what format is originally written to the tape when when shooting standard definition?
|
|
Thanks for the response.
I was under the impression that with MPEG-2 quality for editing?

Very new to video edinting, and I am finally ready to make movies out of the years of miniDV tapes I have accumulated.
I am importing Standard Definition video (is that the correct term??) from mini DV tapes which were shot with a Canon Optura 60.
Is it best to import the data as AVI files?
My Optura 60 recently died during my evaluation period of PD9. I almost purchased a Canon HV40, instead I picked up a (very) used Canon ZR45mc just to have something to import my tapes while I research HD camcorders.
I am looking forward to any comments/guidance/advice...
THANKS!!
[edit] btw, I am using a pc

LOL!!!
Depends on if they are (were) using quantum computing??
FWIW, I thought the "free" holiday pack was useful for an entry level user (me).
But I will have to put this on hold for now, my Cannon Optura 60 decided to not play back anymore. So now I'm off to find (or fix) something to playback my mini-DV's. I bought it new ~ 7 years ago and loved every minute of it up until today. It just stopped reading tapes???
