Hi all!
Unfortunately the link is no longer valid.

Beautiful!
And thank you all three!
There are so many ways to skin a cat (poor thing!) with PD that I did not think of that one (PIP). It works perfectly.
Thanks again, you made my afternoon.

Hi Rob,
Thanks for the help that ... does not work!
You said "Try saving..". I did try. No result. Could you kindly explain how you do it.
I probably miss some little thing, but...which one?
Rgds,

Thanks again.
If I understand correctly, these created -by me- folders are attached to the project on which I work and are not to be invoked on another project.
Then, my request is that I would like to be able to create a folder -like the Color Board or the Backgrounds ones- in which I can load whatever file could be used on different projects.
I naively thought that this could be done with the "Add a new folder" command.
Rgds,
Albert

Thank you for your help.
Unfortunately, if I delete the arrows that are in the Media pane, they are deleted also in the folder. I would like to keep the files in the created folder as the Color Board and Backgrounds ones are kept.
Any idea?

Hello!
I created a bunch of arrows and other circles (see attached picture) that I would like to store in the newly created "Flèches" folder. I looked all over the place and did not find any answer of how to do it.

Hi Dafydd!
I confirm. Your suggestion about the Custom Title in the Title Room and my finding of two Titles with the same name. The extra title created was used only in this instance, hence not having any impact on the other titles in my clip.
I have another question but I will post it on a different thread as it has nothing to do with titles.
Thank you for your help.

Thanks again!
You are probably right with the first guess. I do have the title...twice!
That might have some detrimental effect on the outcome!
I'll cancel one of them and see the results. I'll keep you posted.

Thank you Dafydd.
Here is the requested screen capture.

Hi y'all,
Am I the only one with this weird issue?
I made a title which worked fine and then a little later it shows only "Title" on the monitor screen while the description of the content of the title still exists.
Pls see picture as it is difficult for me to explain.
Thank you,
Albert

Hi!
First, there are no "stupid questions" although there might be stupid answers! ;
I had the same problem and the only way I could solve the problem was:
-1- if the clip used is the complete video rather than an extract, I would first import the video, extract the clip and store the resulting file in a specific folder.
-2- if the whole video is to be used I copy it in the specific folder mentioned above.
Then all your useful videos are in that specific folder and forget about the source videos. The benefit of this approach is that if you want later on to "improve" your work, everything is available. This is valid for the pictures as well as the sounds. The drawback is that you need more disk space.
It can be done even at the end of a project. Then you import in PD all the files from the folder and replace the "black" ones with the good ones.

Hello "unknown"
Could it be the wrong forum?
Albert

Thank you Carl.
I was looking into the forum for an answer to the question: why does it take 4.5 hours to encode in H264 1920x1080 29.97 ips with Nvidia Cuda switched on.
Then, by reading all I could on the subject, the only certitude I have is that I got a big headache and no real answer!
I have tried to switch SVRT but all the suggestions are in red and refuse to "apply". So what's next, or what did I do wrong?
Thanks anyway.

Hi Carl 312,
Then again the reason I bought PD is because it was supposed to be faster with hardware acceleration!

Hi!
Two bugs it seems!
-1- If searching a picture which has the green mark, PD10 will find it, shows it briefly and comes back where the cursor was. Bug#1
EDIT: to successfully find a picture, the cursor must be at the beginning of the time-line. So bug#1 disappears.
-2- If searching a picture (image) that has not the green check mark and the picture is really used and seen on the time-line (there should be a check mark: bug #2a) it does not find it (which seems logical since it did not mark it) bug #2b.
EDIT: in my case the image has been enlarged a lot with "modify", but the reference name has not been changed
Is it enough for me to report it here or should I also report it to Cyberlink?
Thanks & Rgds

G R E A T !
Can't say better than that! Sometimes, in life, a little nothing is absolutely important. If you look for it and can't find it, frustration is right there. Then, somehow or someone brings the little something to light and the whole day brightens. You are the someone and along with others in this group of experts you help tremendously the poor guy like me lost in the intricacies of complex programmes. Thanks to you. You made my day!
Excuse my English if by lack of chance some sentences don't make any sense!

Hi Cranston,
Thank you for this quick answer.
I agree that I might want to have "Group" do things it wasn't designed for. And it's a shame because it would solve all the problems of sync at once.
I checked and the linking of tracks was in effect...and noticed that it does not work all the time the same way. For example if a clip is inserted on the time line, every bits and pieces move right in sync, and that is what is expected. On the other hand if a clip is placed on another track, nothing moves until you decide that it is too long and you shrink it. Then all the downstream clips on that track only moves up-stream of the same quantity as the shrinkage. Good bye synchronization! I know that the solution is to use the split and delete.
So I guess the solution is to know the flaws in a system allowing us to circumvent them, but it is not satisfactory to me.
Another point since we discuss the purpose of grouping. When a group is to be moved to a certain position, it is easy to do it if the whole project is short. When the project is very large and the move is off screen, it is very difficult to find the insert point. Why can't we have something that exists in other programmes: a (or better, several) flag that can be inserted on the time line. Did I miss something? Does it exists that I am not aware of?
Thank you for the time you took answering my question.

Hi y'all
I agree that combine is better that group but I guess both could be present unless the ear is still deaf.
About grouping, what is the purpose of grouping a clip or picture on the time line and another clip or picture superimposed on another track if the later can be "de-synchronized" by some action upstream?
OK! I understand this is not too clear at first so here are two pictures. The first shows the two clips starting at the same time. They are "grouped". The second shows that for some work done upstream (I was not able to figure what did it) the lower clip/picture moved downstream a bit, "de-synchronizing" the "group".
Rgds,
Albert
EDIT: is there a way to freeze several bits in relation to each other on different tracks? I might have missed something.

Thank you Barry, my friend does the export with Pinnacle Studio 14. On the other hand, if he switched from Pinnacle to Cyberlink, I guess he did not want to have to use Studio14 any more.
It is up to Cyberlink to spend a little programming time to please the few but still numerous people having these kind of cameras.

Hello Cranston and thank you.
Your information was partly known by my friend Papido. The missing part that you generously gave him in French was invaluable as it pinpointed that his camera HDR-HC9 was not in the list nor in the Upgrade or Updates available. He will check regularly for the good news from Cyberlink. However his expectations are slim in view of the fact that very little HDV cameras are in production today and very few if none in a close future!
Thanks again for providing such a complete information.
