Hello!

I created a bunch of arrows and other circles (see attached picture) that I would like to store in the newly created "Flèches" folder. I looked all over the place and did not find any answer of how to do it.

?

Select the image/s, hold down the left mouse button and drag them to the new folder. Let go of the button to drop them in.

Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately, if I delete the arrows that are in the Media pane, they are deleted also in the folder. I would like to keep the files in the created folder as the Color Board and Backgrounds ones are kept.
Any idea?

FILE|SAVE PROJECT or FILE|EXPORT|PACK PROJECT FILES.
When you bring the project back the added folder will be intact, as will its contents.

Thanks again.

If I understand correctly, these created -by me- folders are attached to the project on which I work and are not to be invoked on another project.

Then, my request is that I would like to be able to create a folder -like the Color Board or the Backgrounds ones- in which I can load whatever file could be used on different projects.

I naively thought that this could be done with the "Add a new folder" command.

Try saving them in the "Customs" directory of the PIP Object Room instead.
This is where I save all my created object files like you have.
They are then available for all new projects whenever I want them.

I do the same for my customs Titles - save them to the "Custom" directory of the Title Room.
As well move other effects into the "Favorites" directory and they are then ready and waiting for you.

Rob

[Edit to add- You can make a TEMPLATE project with all your favorite media that you save as suggested previously and that will have the media such as an intro video clip / sound file etc. when you click on it. Doing what I stated above will still have all those Custom objects / effects and Favorites ready for you regardless.)

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the help that ... does not work!
You said "Try saving..". I did try. No result. Could you kindly explain how you do it.

I probably miss some little thing, but...which one?

Rgds,

Albert

Choose the PIP Objects Room (F5), then click on this blue + folder...

Locate your image and click on OK; this brings up the PIP designer.

Make changes if needed, then SAVE the image. The "custom" box appears.
Give the image a name and click on OK. It's now in the CUSTOM folder.

Hi Albert -

The suggestions by RobAC & borgus1 are the regular ways PD users make custom PiP objects, Titles, Particles etc. If you follow the steps on borgus's screenshot, you should be right.

As you've discovered, placing media in a folder only applies to that particular project. Rob's idea about making a "template" project would also work for you if you tend to use the same batch of graphics & other media.

Another (maybe irregular) thing I do with commonly used screens is to copy and paste them into the folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDirector11\Background\16_9 - just another way of having these files constantly on hand.

BUT - saving your arrows & graphics as PiP Object templates is the best way to do it.

Cheers - Tony

Beautiful!
And thank you all three!
There are so many ways to skin a cat (poor thing!) with PD that I did not think of that one (PIP). It works perfectly.

Thanks again, you made my afternoon.

Albert
