Carl,

Thanks for the information, & reply, it is appreciated.
I have recently purchased a Blu ray read write for my computer.

I have put the files from the DVD video onto the hard drive, and by using PD 9

I have produced a Blu ray disk, which has turned out OK.

I have played both the original DVD and the Blu ray disk via a Sony 1080P 40" TV. The sound quality on the
Blu ray is better than the DVD.

However looking at both scenes on DVD & Blu ray, I cannot tell much difference in the picture quality.

Would I get a better video quality if I started from scratch put the files onto PD 9, edit, produce etc.

and transfer the movie directly onto a Blu ray disk?

Hi Neil,

Many thanks again, for clarifying my question.

Regards
Alan
Hi Neil,

Just had a quick look at the excellent video.

My problem is that my second DVD which I want to include on the Blu ray disk has nothing in common with the first DVD files I have saved & produced.

Therefore I assume that looking at the instructional video, I must put all[u] the files together onto the blu ray disk, am In correct in assuming this?
Neil,

Many thanks for you quick & comprehensive reply, I will give it a try.

Just purchased a read/write blu ray for my computer. I am wanting to transfer my home video collection from my DVD's to Blu ray disks.

I have been advised by Cyberlink support that I can do this by putting the VOB files from my DVD onto the hard drive. Then insert the VOB files into P.D. 9. Then produce and burn onto a Blu ray disk.

This works OK and no problems. But as the Blu Ray disk is not full, I then put another video file from my DVD onto the hard drive & repeat the process again.

This works, but the only way PD 9 will let me do this is to delete the first video. I wish to keep both video's on the Blu ray disk.

Is there any way around this problem?
Hi JF,

Thanks for your reply.

I have unchecked this tab, but unfortunately, I still get the occasional

crash. I have been onto the "firm" which sold me the overclocked set

up. I would appear from their comments, the BIOS settings are incorrect.

I am still corresponding with them to resolve the issue.

It would appear at this stage, it is nothing to do with the software.
Thank you for your replies.

Forgotten to mention, may be important?

The video clips I am using are from The Canon in HG 10 & The TZ7,

can you "Mix" these clips together to make the video?
Hi Robert S,

Thanks for your reply.

Also do you have shadow files turned off

I will look at this in due course.

I have managed to save e a small video file which lasted about 5 minutes

and put into You Tube, which was successful.

I will go back to basics, and try not to be too ambitious.
I am new to PowerDirector 8, and have just tried for many hours to try & resolve the issue of the computer crashing, when "Producing."

Set Up: Windows 7
Canon HG 10 Camcorder
Panasonic DMC TZ7

Computer:
i7 2.67Gh overclocked to 4.00 Gh
6 Gb. Ram
Nvidia 8800 GT graphics card.

I have manged to get to the stage of editing the package, and satisfied with the results.

I then came to "Producing" rendering, some times I would get about half way through and the program would crash. Soime times it would crash after a few minutes. I managed to see the "Blue Screen" on one occasion which read " Bad Pool header......."

I have now realised that in some of the clips I used video from my Panasonic TZ7, I don't think this "video" is supported. Is this why the computer keeps crashing?
