This seems to be the norm with the CL Downloader.

Why don't they just post the Patch on this Forum? Their silly downloader nearly always fails.

Perhaps my PC, updated and have the same problem we had with the previous Beta version that is open project, lock in 100% need to use Ctrl + Alt + Del to exit.
Also a new instalation, updated to v2907 the same.

I was able to download and install the new patch (and help Neil out ).

Things looks stable so far, however the issue with 30% slower producing times with newer nVidia drivers is still present. Version 344.65 is still the preferred graphics driver for the quickest production time.

Does PD freeze if you set it to not open the previous project at start-up?

If it starts cleanly, can you open a recent project with PD running without it getting stuck?

You might need to rename the project PD is trying to open before you can access the Settings menu.

I never activated this option.

I tried to disable, Enable OPEB CL ... also Enable Harware Decoder. (Not resolved)

I activated from the Catalyst Omega had no problems here but, in spite of not feeling difference in practice.
So you can start PD and it runs, but when you try to open a project it gets stuck? Can you create a new project with just a couple clips, then save it, close PD then open PD and see if it will open your new project?

If it does, it means that something is wrong with your other project. Maybe some of the media clips are not available?

I tested it with four recent projects 2 small and 2 large, everyone carries slow to 80% expected then goes to 100% and locks, did not expect much because I know this problem here, I returned to v2604 project loads fast.

I have not tried new project yet.

You can reinstall the previous patch (2604) and be back at that level. There's no need to uninstall first.

Before you give up on an official release, you may want to start a new thread and describe the situation in detail. If there are new issues in this build it would help the forum and Cyberlink to know what's happening.

Not really, doing such can end up with a little bit of both releases for your current running version depending on what exactly was updated between the two different patches. It was discussed and demonstrated in detail here. http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/75/43000.page

Patches are cumulative so you only need the last one, but going backward maybe more than just installing the old patch, it really depends what CL put in the patch.

You're right Jeff.

When I posted this, for some reason I thought that the official patches were significantly different from the beta patches. I assumed they were more thorough and would contain all the dlls, etc. current as of the build date. In other words, I expected that the installer would overwrite all of the support files, not just the ones that had been updated in that build. I don't even know where I got that idea, and unfortunately I didn't think to confirm my statement before posting.

After seeing your response, I did some testing using Revo Uninstaller Pro to track all the changes made as I installed PD13 (v2307), updated it to 2604, then to 2907 and then installed 2604 on top of that. Sure enough, I was left with some files with newer build dates and versions than 2604 just as you described. I stand corrected.yell

(hand raised) From this point on, I will refrain from recommending any form of version rollback via patching and will heretofor explicitly state that the proper method for going back to any prior version (whether beta or released) shall be to uninstall PD; install with the original media; then procede to apply the desired patch. So help me _______ (fill in appropriate deity) (hand lowered, covered in humble pie)

Issue summary: After updating PowerDirector 13 to v2907 in specific platforms, PowerDirector 13 shows error message "Out of memory" and crashes after opening a project. Users who have encountered the issue should roll back to PowerDirector 13 v2604. CyberLink are working on the solution now and will provide a new patch ASAP.

Good point but CyberLink haven't said. As they've "withdrawn" the patch seems we will never know except by the number of recent posts reporting crashes after using the 2907 patch.
