EDIT: It appears that if I had made edits to the audio..buttons won't show...for native clips in the timeline..they are ok! VERIFIED..

OK, located the problem...this is related to WaveEditor and "Edit Audio" function.....duplicated!!

- paste native MTS file into timeline (buttons there when highlighted)
-Click Edit Audio button
-waveeditor opens
-boost 2db
-save file and re-enter project
-buttons are gone for that clip

NOTE: If I use "right-click, unlink objects" BEFORE or AFTER I edit Audio, buttons do NOT disappear

Can someone using 3305 try this to see if it happens to you, please?

THANKS

Same behavior was also occurring in 2930.

Silly me..I just never noticed it before..so it is just an "undocumented program enhancement" (as designed)!!

Thanks Cranston!

"Undocumented program enhancement" (as designed)!"
Hahaha! I like that!
Yes, these "undocumented program enhancements", oft appear to be CL's raison d'etre.

Fred...

What's going on is obvious. PD9 is looking at your project. It has come to the conclusion that it is perfect the way it is and needs no changes......

Hi Fred,
This is NOT a feature of v3305 - I already had described the disappearance of all editing buttons during the beta phase of PD9. And it has already happened to me with v2930.
Sad to see that this 'feature' is still alive.
A workaround: change from library view to any other 'room' and back - and your buttons will be there again.
Most probably a too easy workaround for CL to repair this bug.

Hi all,

as you will suspect, I am not on v3305, but 2930!
Have buttons disappeared? Yes.
They have a habit of disappearing if I bring in several clips at once
to the media library.
If I stick with one clip at a time, the buttons stay put.
Obviously, for a 64 bit program with quite high
demands for pc specs, it's not good enough.

Nina

Just something.

As per: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/0/18118.page#92950
Item 212 has been replicated by CyberLink but it is not down as having been fixed in patch 3305.

Hi Mike,

For some reason, that workaround does not seem to work on neither my 32 or 64 bit rigs, when trying the following test.

- Drag the Nature clip to track 1 > Click on Edit Audio to open in WaveEditor.
- Drag the Range Finder > Choose and modify EQ > Close and Save at prompt.
- Now back in PD, editing buttons are missing (e.g. Trim, Fix/Enhance, etc).
- Open other “rooms” ( Effect Room, Title Room, etc.) > Exit rooms.

Upon return to main screen from any Room visit, buttons are still missing. Unlinking Objects however (prior to, or after modifying in WE), does still seem work to recover buttons.
Just an observation.

That's not exactly the kind of vanished buttons we're talking about.
As soon as you hightlight more than one clip in the timeline, the buttons are fading-out, but return back, as soon as you focus the highlight to ONE clip.
The bug is - seldom and randomly ocurring - that you can't bring back the buttons. with highlighting a single clip.

@ Cranston: I'm sorry, that was MY error - I mixed up these two things: changing to another 'room' of PD pulls the focus off the multi-chosen-clips, and when you hightlight a clip again, it's a single one - bringing back the buttons.
But that is NOT the 'vanishing buttons error'.
Your way to let the buttons vanish is reproducible.
Adding an effect to the effect track brings back the "Multi-Split" button - but not the others.

Looking again at the screenshot of FredB, you'll notice that there is a single clip highlighted, and there are no buttons.

Michael.

Hi Fred,
1. I have place a group of HD files into VT1 and while highlighted there are zero buttons available.
2. highlighting one HD file in the group of 5 resulted in the buttons appearing.
3. Extracting the third HD file and dragging it to the first position in VT2 under the first file in VT1 resulted in zero buttons displaying even with both highlighted. The scrubber is positioned to the left/end position.
4. Moving the scrubber to any position/middle was chosen and both clips highlighted, triggered the multi-Split option for both clips.

I can not replicate the issue you have.
1. it might be confined to mts file format (doubt it).
2. A thorough re-install may cure the issue, you may have a corrupt installation.
3. Highlighting the clip may be also activating some residual media file (doubt it as multi-Split should trigger).

I cant replicate this matter.

Update.
Cranston pointed out your link: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/19053.page#99327
I should have read more and not relied upon the images.

OK, the image displayed no separation of file = video and wav for the mts. Something I would have expected for a video and a new audio.

I have replicated the error when using an mts file.

Sorry, I should have read all the thread.

Dafydd,

I am not sure about the specificity of MTS-files. When I encountered the missing buttons the very first time, it was during the beta phase, and there I was using MOD-files (coming out of my old JVC camera with this extension) in MPG2 format.
Whereas my today's camera produces M2TS files, I used old MOD-format clips to reproduce the error as described by Cranston.
