color preset option missing from enhance menu

I am having multiple issues with my PowerDirector 365

1. The preset menu is not appearing in the Enhance menu. I made several presets in color director.
2. If I use the Match color option, how do I apply the results to multiple frames? Match color does not seem to be an option in Color Director, so I can't make a preset (if that worked!)
3. I have a fast i9 Dell computer with 32 GB of memory, and I am having issues with the multi-camera plugin. Both mp4 files have the identical sound track, and I did sync by audio. But as the selection process goes on, the audio is increasingly out of sync with the videos. If I pause and restart the process, they resync, but this makes it really hard to use the tool.

The online Help manual is the quickest way to find where any tool or effect is located. See this related discussion on where Presets & CLUTs are now so you can use your custom CD Presets.

I accidentally hit Submit instead of Preview. More answers will follow.

By "multiple frames" do you actually mean "multiple clips"? Presets and CLUTs are applied to all frames in a single clip and there's no way to stop that unless you cut/trim the clip before applying the preset.

To apply the same Color Match option to more than one clip, you'll need to make multiple copies of your matched clip on the timeline and then drag each desired clip from the Media Room directly onto a timeline copy and choose Replace from the pop-up menu. You may need to individually trim each of the replaced clips, or use the Precut tool in the Media room beforehand.

Do this in sections and save the current MCD state to place the content on the timeline then save the project.

To re-open the MCD and continue editing, click on any of the MC1 video clips on the timeline, then click on Tools and then MultiCam Designer.

Quote I do not see the menu item.

That's because the presets are in the FX Room

When one syncs via audio, it puts each clip in a separate timeline. Is there an easy way to move them all back to the same timeline? I wish PD did not do this because it makes it really hard to edit a large project since one must scroll both ways. And if the clips are all in the same timeline, the apply to all clips would work.

Thanks for the help.

Looks like we're talking about something different now. I thought you were using the Mutli-Cam Designer ("multi-camera plugin") but now you're asking about the Sync by Audio tool. There is no way to stop PD from creating new empty tracks and moving the synced clips there, and I belive it's designed that way to make sure that none of the other timeline content is disturbed.

Normally you'd trim the ends or one of the clips to match the starting and ending points on the other, then drag both clips straight up to the gap in the timeline where they were previously. You may find that zooming out on the timeline scale (keyboard "-" ) will reduce the need for scrolling. Use "+" to zoom back in when your desired section is near the middle of the screen.

As a general rule, you'd want to do things like syncing near the start of a project, even if those clips aren't near the beginning of the timeline.

As for the Apply to all clips comment, I'm guessing you mean the right-click option from a Color Preset which would be the quickest way to apply a single preset to all clips.

If you have a large project and only want to selectively apply the preset to some of them, use the approach I mentioned earlier or you can try the following steps:

  1. Save the project then manually select (with the mouse lasso or holding down the Ctrl key when clicking) all clips you want to apply the preset to

  2. Use Ctrl+C or right-click on a selected clip and choose Copy, then go to File | New Workspace and paste the selection there

  3. From the FX room, right-click on the preset you want to use and choose Apply to all clips.

  4. Lasso all clips (or use Ctrl+A to select all) then copy them

  5. Go to File | Open Recent Projects and reopen your original project. No need to save the current project

  6. Once the project has loaded, click on the leftmost clip that you've just applied the color preset to. Hit the Home key to make sure the scrubber is at the very beginning of the clip

  7. Use Ctrl+V (or right-click and choose Paste) then choose Overwrite (or Paste and Overwrite) to replace the original clips with the preset versions. Note that any transitions that had been placed between the new clips and other clips will be removed, so you'll either have to drag new transistions onto them or do this step before placing transitions in the first place
