Newest update breaks SVRT quick rendering on PD 18 (365 sub)

As the title says, I usually render my videos set to a 110K bit-rate (they're 4K 60FPS) which is slightly higher than their native settings (coming from a GoPro Hero 7 Black and DJI Osmo Pocket) as that allows PD to plow through the rendering and kick out a 45 minute long h.264 video in about 5 minutes or so (I add in some light graphics and voice over and that's it).

I had already rendered a few videos to today that way and got the pop-up notice to update my software, so I did.
Then I rendered one and it was going painfully slow (about 2-3 hours). So I stopped, rebooted... no change. I got the idea to re-render one of the videos I already did earlier in the day using the exact same project file and source files, so nothing was changed and... the SVRT didn't work its magic. The only thing that changed was the update...

What gives? Did it just reset a setting I'm unaware of or has PD just broken the one functionality that keeps me as a paying subscriber? Any help would be appreciated!

Appears the PD18 patch broke SVRT for several, like here https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/81193.page#post_box_333998

Wait for another patch to fix or to break other things.

YIKES! Thanks... that's a total bummer for me. I don't have the original install files and there's no way to roll it back.
Do you know the time frame for how quickly they tend to address this sort of thing?
I'm leaving for vacation soon and have over a dozen videos I need to get edited, rendered and uploaded to youtube to cover the time I'm off. The SVRT is a life saver as I can crank them out en-masse which means I can edit several videos in one sitting. If I'm rendering something I can't use PD18 to edit the next one at the same time. I know I can set them to batch render overnight but that's not ideal as I like to QC them as soon as they're finished so I don't have to re-do them which is no big deal when SVRT can re-do it in minutes.

Thanks for the heads up, extremely disappointing to see something that can easily get tested for become broken during an update that promised improved speed in the description lol.

If you have the subscription version, the only quick way to go back is to restore a system backup image that was made before installing the latest patch (but obviously you had to have known to do that).

If you don't have a backup system image, you can try contacting customer service and/or tech support and see if they will provide you with an App Manager link to reinstall the previous version. I don't know if they'd be willing to do that, or how long it might take them to do so, but they did that with an earlier PD18 update that rendered PD unusable on some people's systems.

In your current situation, I'd do your usual daily editing with the expectation that you'll have to run batch producing overnight, just know that you'll have to spend the appropriate time each morning to review and revise. Obviously it's not as efficient as having SVRT operable, but you should still be able to get the necessary work done before you leave.

Hi I already had contact with the support for this, my description is here:

https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/81072.page#333611

Here is the answer today from the support:

Hello,

we were able to reproduce the described behaviour.

This case was forwarded to our software development department for further investigation. We thank you for your report.
As a workaround, you can use the hardware encoder option in the PowerDirector Production Room to speed up rendering. This might be a possible solution.

Hey, have you heard anything on this from them since?

SVRT is still broken on my end and it's a major downer

Hopefully it'll be fixed in the next patch.

They don't typically give a release date in advance, but as it's been a couple months since the last update I'm thinking that we'll have a new one fairly soon
