I am trying to create Subtitles in Powerdirector. I have created an .srt file.
The text is "Hindi" Text. Uploading them in PowerDirector, they are messed up. The text is still Hindi but you can tell that editor does not support the encoding and messing it up. Any guidance?

I have some, but it's not good news.

The OP in this post was having trouble with Punjabi text in PD's Title Designer. I couldn't find a way to get it to work properly, but I was able to show him a way to import the correctly formatted text as a graphic image.

Unfortunately, that won't work for subtitles, but my understanding of is that you can send them along with your video and the viewer can import them to the player (like VLC) if they're on a computer, or you can upload them to YouTube which will integrate them for you for all viewers.

If the basic functionailty if the subtitle room doesn't work with Hindi text, those are the first things I'd try.

Thank you Optodata.
I have the same problem. I have seen that problem in Adobe products also but they are resolved by checking a checkbox in setting that permits south east asian language and arabic languages as well.
The problem is with Unicode characters. When you import the characters, the punctuations are re-arranged and spaces are created and gives meaningless appearance.
I can follow your suggestion however I have one hour long video and I already spent 6 hours entering the subtitles in youtube. I was hoping to import the youtube subtitles into PD but that did not work.
The problem is not langugage support, problem is encoding support. Since south east asian language comprises of complex words.
I want to thank you though for responding. I appreciate it.
