Error Message - Burning unsuccessful

Hi Forum

Can anyone help with this. Trying to burn a project and getting this error message:

Burning unsuccessful

Error Code: eC0030011

Possible Causes:
Transaction engines's front end stream error
Might be due to:
1, Broken or missing source file
2, Out of system memory

I have absolutely no clue what this could mean, and would be very surprised if it is a memory problem as I have 8gb DDR3 installed.

Kind regards

David

At what Percent of completion did the error happen?

If the progress was less than 21% you have problems in the Menu system.

Greater than 21%, it is something on your timeline.
The out of System memory may be your C Harddrive does not have enough free space.

Hi Carl

Thank for the response. It didn't even start to burn, no progress reported at all, elapsed time was about 36 seconds.

The C drive is 1TB and plenty of free space. I'll check the menu system, but still a novice with PD11 so the problem may not be obvious to me.

Will be back with any findings.

Kind regards

David

If you search Google for the error code, you get this page.

I'm an rank beginner -- but I did have problems rendering a DVD whe I had used the defaults (a single-sided DVD) and PowerDirector determined that the size of the resulting DVD required a double-sided DVD -- the burning would fail immediately with a cryptic message.

May not (likely not) your issue -- but sharing.

Hi Carl

I found the problem at least, and you were correct in believing it is to do with the Menu Structure. Disc Burn Fails if I use a standard template in the Create Disc Work Space which allows the use of Menu's in the design. Even turning off 'Remove Menu Opening Video' in the Menu Options does not solve the problem. If I choose a No Menu template then the Disc Burn works correctly.

Problem now is how do I fix that? One of the nice features with PD11 was the use of Chapters in the Edit mode - to become Scenes when the disc is created. I've lost that feature altogether right now if I can't burn a disc when selecting a template.

Any ideas welcome.

Did you try a different menu?

I would guess if the templates you have installed are not working, you probably should re-install Powerdirector. Or the content pack.
You can remove the content pack and re-install it.

Control Panel > Program and Features to remove.
Use your original Program and Content Pack install file(s).

PD11 - with all available updates applied - not sure how to check the version

Click on the Words "Powerdirector" in the upper Right Corner.

Hi Carl

No luck there, uninstalled the whole set of apps - reinstalled PD11 and the premium content pack using administrator privileges and with anti-virus and firewall disabled.
Same problem sorry to say. I even downloaded a template from the DZ web and installed that and that fails also.

Not sure where to go from here. Log a support call I guess.

Kind regards

You are not done yet!

Read Part H and test the DVD burning using the sample files.
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/24771.page

If you do not have the sample files loading now, you can turn them back on:
Preferences > Project > Check "Automatically load sample clips when Powerdirector opens". Click OK.

Close powerdirector, then re-start powerdirector, sample files will be in the library.

Hi Carl
I followed the instructions in part H. The mpg sample was of some Tram footage. Clicked the create disc and the prject was loaded to Template 1, which uses the Monopoly board as the 'launch pad'. Tried both burn methods 1) Create Folder Option - ON and 2) Create Folder Option - OFF.

Both methods failed to burn and both reported the same error as I have seen before. If I then take the option No Menu, it burns okay?

By the way PD11 is at version 11.0.0.3026

Kind Regards

The Tram.wmv footage is 3D, Try Nature.mpg. it is 2D.
Do not use the images with .MPO extension, they are also 3D.

Edit:Correct Spelling

Hi Carl

Sorry to report another failure. Loaded the Nature.MPG - tried to burn disc using both methods. But again failed with the same symptoms as described earlier. And again selecting No Menus allowed the burning process to start correctly.

Kind regards

Have you tried uncheck Burn Disk, Check Burn Disk Folder, using a menu?

When I say using a menu, I mean with no modification. Try several different menus.

Try the Rose menu.
Attached screen shot of that menu.

Hi Carl

Sorry - not sure I fully understood your last reply, I have chosen a number of menu templates for the burn testing and the result is the same (even with the burn folder checked and unchecked) - the burn fails if I use a menu template. If I choose no menu then it burns okay. You suggested I try the Rose menu, but the download only produces a JPG file? Do I need to do something else to the file in order to use it as a menu?

Hi Carl

Sorry - just realised it's a picture of what I should look for. I can't find that menu to download. Can you please advise the full name of the file.

Hi Carl

Close to giving up and asking for a refund. Then I thought I would try the trial version of PD12. Downloaded and installed. Loaded the Nature file 3 times into the work space, set the chapters. Rendered and set to Burn process. Worked first time.

What do I do now? PD11 won't work on this laptop - but PD12 will. I clearly do not want to pay for something twice and really don't need all the new stuff in PD12 anyway.

Kind regards

David
