Hello, this is my second topic , and my first post in this forum, I wanted to report a problem you have to run the trial version of Power Director 11 Ultimate Suite. It is a runtime error with the following note:

Ah! And remember, the error is in the downloader, not the installer.

Microsoft Visual C + + Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program:...yberlink_PowerDirector_Ultimate_Suite_Downloader.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Help me!

PD:
It also happens the same problem with the downloader of ColorDirector Trial.

Hi,
Have you updated your Windows Drivers? If not do so, but steer away from updating graphic drivers to the New 306.?? drivers they are flawed.

You may need to install the Microsoft C++ Run time library:

32 bit (X86)
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

64 bit
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632

Now I have a newer version of Microsoft Visual C + + 2010 Redistributable Package. I do not think that's the problem, what if the libraries could be corrupt?
Actually, this problem is quite strange, since the
downloaders of the test versions of PhotoDirector and AudioDirector works perfectly. But the downloaders of ColorDirector and PowerDirector 11 Ultra, Ultimate and Ultimate Suite gives the runtime error. I have already contacted CyberLink, but
I also want to know how many people this happens.

Is this the first time you have installed any PowerDirector program?

On the install was there any issue when it came to installing Wave editor?

Are you capable of uploading dxdiag as detailed in the sticky at the top of this forum?

I would try downloading the Trial again.

You may have gotten a bad or corrupted download.

That is over 400 Megabyte download, anything can go wrong.

This link is my DXDIAG.

Wave Editor is downloaded and installed perfectly.

And, yes, I installed Power Director 10.

Hi,
I had a quick look at your DXdiag file and Power Director Ultimate requires a lot of free space on hard drive for caching files (100GB recommended in my opinion) and a lot of Memory, I have 12GB memory, you only have 4GB, this is going to make Video editing a slow process.

Hi,
How is what done? Memory you buy more memory modules and add them...for memory increase...as for disk space clean out programs you don't need (use) and or buy bigger hard drive which means transferring your system to new hard drive (not my expertise and could create problems unless you have a knowledgable person do it.

So, do I need more memory to solve the runtime error?
Ok, thanks anyway, but if you find a solution, please, tell me.

Have you tried downloading the trial again?

You may have gotten a bad download.

More memory is nearly always a good thing, If you have a 64 bit OS, it will benefit from 6 GB or more RAM.

I would guess the runtime error is a bad download.

I know the download is over 400 Megabytes and it takes time. But if you have a bad download, nothing is going to fix the problem until you get a good download.

And you will not know for sure until you download a second time.

When you installed PD11 do you remember if the install asked you to remove the previous version of Wave editor? and to replace it with Wave Editor 2 ?

Wave Editor 2 is AudioDirector, no? Well not requested me anything.

Listen, please, this has something to do with the runtime error?

I am sorry to say, but still appears PD11 Ultimate Suite Trial Downloader runtime error, and not the second time I downloaded the downloader, I've downloaded dozens of times.

Again, these are the downloaders that give the error:
-Power Director 11 Suite Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultra (Trial)
-Color Director 1 (Trial)
-Director Suite 1 (Trial)
-Photo Director Suite (Trial)
And probably many more.

Downloaders they work correctly:
-Power Director 11 Deluxe (Trial)
-Photo Director Ultra (Trial)
-Media Suite 10 (Trial)
-AudioDirector (probably WaveEditor 2) (Trial)
And probably many more.

Not that I want to download all these programs, I just wanted to show you which ones do not work (ie, those who give Runtime Error).

NO, Audior Director and Wave Editor are not common and the runtime error is with the installer, and this is a problem I saw in beta testing PD11, wave editor is installed when you install PD10 or PD11 it has nothing to do with AudioDirector!

If for some reason wave editor does not get un-installed from PD10 when you install PD11 then you will get the run time issues.

The only fix is to remove both PD10 and PD11 and then clean the registry and install packages, I'm afraid this will require a high level of computer knowledge, and too complex to explain here, an easier way is to re-install your OS and start again.

I hope some of the other suggestion here work for you, but I do believe it is an issue with Wave Editor.

and I can download the trial installer without downloading the downloader? It would be a way to avoid runtime error .... I do not care to go slow downloading, I just want to download the trial....

I am sorry it is not that easy, the installer has nothing to do with downloading, it is the application that unpacks the download, sets the registry values, creates the program folders and initiates the various programs, in your case I believe it is getting to the Wave Editor stage and reading a conflict in the registry with the previous version of Wave Editor that it expects to find installed.

More complex than that simple explanation but I hope you get the message that the fix is complex, perhaps Dafydd when he gets on will recall the process for recover, if it is the problem you face

Hi JackLet -

Just for clarity, is the runtime error occurring when you:
(a) try to run the downloader?

or
(b) try to run the actual installer files?

From your first post, it seems like the issue is with the downloader - not the installer... https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/24849.page#134994 and https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/15/24849.page#135169

Have you tried re-installing the Microsoft Runtime Library components, as Carl suggested? https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/24849.page#135035

The first things I'd suggest (after reinstalling Microsoft Runtime Library) would be a registry clean (with CCleaner).

Cheers - Tony
