Shw mae Rhodri,
Sorry, I don't think I can be of much use to you with your PS3 query and quality issue for your footage.

The template frame size I gave for the PS3, was the maximum (I believe) PD9 offered.

Hi Dafydd,

Thanks very much for all your help and assistance and thank you to everyone else who has aided me with my PD9 problem.

I am currently liaising with the Technical Support Team to hopefully resolve the incompatibility with Sony Camcorders and or Sony PS3.

In the mean time I will be reverting to my old video editing software VideoStudio X3 as it is able to do what I want.

I am very disappointed to have spent so much money on PD9 and yet it isn't able to do the very basic tasks I require of it.

Hopefully a patch will be released in the near future and my money will not have been entirely wasted!

Cheers again,

Rhodri

I just tried several of my NTSC videos and they played perfectly, other than having no sound, which I have yet to figure out. I converted one to 25fps and my system wouldn't play it - unsupported file type. Makes me wonder why I could play yours (although poorly) and what the difference is. __________________________________

I have this issue down as Item 200 in my report list.
Update from CL: Ebug reported and the issue has been passed to the "product team" for investigation.

I'll keep this thread posted when i have any new data.

Diolch Dafydd,

I appreciate all of your help. I look forward to a fix being found. Unfortunately it means for the moment that the Software is useless to me and I have requested a refund.

Cheers to everyone who assisted me. If I have any more progress, I will keep the forum informed.

Regards,

Rhodri

Hi,
I chimed in maybe a little to late and am of course running in NTSC format, and a Windows 7 64bit with i7 processor. But I have just ran a video of my grandchildren and saved to a folder then used Nero to burn the folder to a blu-Ray re-writable dVD and played beautifully on my PS3.
I use the h.264 set to full 1920x1080 res and highest quality, my videos contained a standard Canon samsung video and a Canaon Hi def video in the same production, I burned to a folder from PD9 Ultra then used Nero to burn that folder to Blu ray rewritable. It plays beautufully on the PS3 and my Panasonic blu ray player hooked up to Panasonic 50" TV.
So my suggestion is do as I did just burn to Blu Ray H.264 Hi quality.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your input. I have been in contact with Tevhnical support and they have been able to duplicate the issues:

1. Poor rendering of Sony HDR CX350 Videos when SVRT is NOT selected.
2. Poor PS3 playback when SVRT is selected

Please see response below:

Dear Rhodri,

Thank you for writing back.

We are able to reproduce your two issues:

1. Produce the clip from Sony HDR CX350 wtih SVRT, it is unsmooth when playback on PS3

2. Produce the clip from Sony HDR CX350 without SVRT, it has motion blur when playback on PS3

R&D team is working on this issue.

I hope a fix can be found and issued soon as PD9 is useless to me until then!

Regards,

Rhodri

Shw mae Rhodri,

Please try patch 3305, your reported issue of ATI pixelation is down as being fixed.

Bore da Dafydd,

Thanks so much for following up and keeping me updated.

I have just downloaded the patch and tested this version. So far it looks great. I've tried both SVRT and Hardware Video Encoder and they both seem to produce very sharp, smooth video.

Thanks again for all your help.
