I installed a fresh copy of all the software that came with the Canon. Didn't help. and I can't import them from the camera anymore since the files are no longer on it. I have them all backed up though. Any other ideas?
The .mts files come from a High Def Canon HF21. My friend and I share this camera for our hobby. He uses Powerdirector 8 and suggested it to me. He hasn't had this problem, but he uses Windows 7 on an HP Laptop. You think it may have something to do with a Dell driver, or lack of?
Yes, it works fine when I add the sample clips. Anything else crashes it. wmv, mts, etc. I hope this helps.

same here. I submitted a few days ago and have yet to get a response. I resubmitted yesterday just in case. Now I'm here, and have also found others having similar issues. So far, Powerdirector 8 does not seem to be a stable product
I have powerdirector 8. Working on a Dell studio 15, operating windows vista 32bit. Everytime I add a clip to the timeline, powerdirector "has stopped working". I formatted my computer, reinstalled the program, installed the "patch" from the cyberlink website, even unchecked the automatic software update box like a read in another forum for a similar problem. Nothing has worked. I email tech support several days ago and still haven't a response. Can someone on here PLEASE help?!!!!!
