I just realized that it's been a few months since I originally posted this problem and wanted to follow up to see if the issue has been identified yet? I've got the latest updates installed but so far the only ways to make the program work on my system are to change the display settings for the monitor to landscape or to unplug the monitor that is in portrait orientation from my PC, and then run PowerDVD (just turning the monitor off doesn't work.)
This continues to be frustrating. Can someone from Cyberlink please let me know if this issue is even something that is on your "to-do" list at this point? I would just like to know if I need to a consider purchasing a different Bluray playback application or not.
Thanks

I just bought PowerDVD 10 last night and, after installation, the first time I tried to run it the application failed immediately with the error "CyberLink PowerDVD 10 is not optimized for this screen resolution and will now close."
I've already found a workaround to the problem, which is to simply unplug the second monitor before starting the application. The monitor must remain unplugged the whole time PowerDVD is in use; if I plug it back in the application immediately shuts down with the same error.
Needless to say, it's an annoyance to have to do this every time I want to watch a movie, but at least there is a workaround for now until (hopefully) CyberLink can address this issue. I would guess that multi-monitor setups are becoming increasingly common these days so I thought I'd share this info with everyone.
For what it's worth, here's some additional information about my PC/OS:
Windows 7 64-bit
8GB RAM
nVidia Geforce GTX295 video card
Primary monitor: Acer GD235HZ (full HD, up to 120Hz refresh rate, monitor (connected with DVI->HDMI cable)
Secondary monitor: Dell 2001FP (1600x1200 max, rotated to portrait orientation, connected with DVI)
BTW, the BD Advisor utility passes my system with flying colors.
That's all of the relevant info I think; if you need any additional information please let me know.
Thanks for your attention to this issue.
Regards,
Steve F
