Quote: Hi Wallace,

I can see why you have had difficulties with Tech.Support giving you a definitive answer, because I don't understand what you are trying to achieve either.

If you have purchased the full version of Power2Go 6, you can install without PowerDVD Suite being on your computer.

I could be wrong, but the PowerDVD Suite provided with your burner will be an OEM version and probably does not require an activation key. If when trying to install it does ask for a key and a key was not provided by LG, then your first point of contact would be LG not CyberLink. I assume that the disc you are referring to was supplied with your burner, and if a key was required it would be on the disc sleeve.

Robert, Thanks for the info! LG has provided PowerDVD8 that has installed just fine! My BluRay movies play smooth, sharp and clear, and I know I can upgrade if i choose to!
I just want to buy the upgrade for Powerdvd.. Some OEM software qualifies for an upgrade. i cant install the oem software I have so how with the Upgrade install? I assume I have powerdvd 7 standard? , can i buy the upgrade? or, Do I have to buy a full retail???

I got in a hurry and bought the full power2go.
I bought a new LG BluRay Burner for my PC build. The software that came with it is the old Cyberlink powerDVD suite ver 7. I cant install this . i went ahead and bought the full version of Power2Go 6. is there a way to install the upgrade with out installing the powerdvd? i have contacted support several times but have been unable to make them understand. Please advise. the is no serial # I can find on the disk by exploring folders. Thanks
