Adding just one additional chapter caused the burn stage to fail again regardless if disc or folder.
Now I can only hope the technical guys can solve the problem.
Hi Andy , it's 4.4 gig. I doubt using chapters adds much to that.
Just deleted all but one chapter, (the first which I couldn't delete for some reason) and did a produce and burn and again success.
Now I am going to add in one chapter at a time to see at which point it breaks.
Hi Dafyyd, Ok, I uninstalled and reinstalled but no change.

1. Open PD application (trial version build 8.00.2220)
2. Click OPEN PROJECT
3. Select my edited movie. (4.4gb, 1.15hrs duration with 9 chapters and many splits with fade ins).
4. click PRODUCE.
5 Select MPEG-2 HQ with 5.2 sound.
6 run The render (about 7 minutes) no problems.
7 click on Create Disc.
8 Select menu preference and choose template 2.
9. Click Burn and select file option, (same error happens for disc burn).
10. Burn starts but after 14 seconds "elapsed time" but 45 seconds real time error message "Burning Unsuccessful"
"Possible causes"
Transcoding engines front end stream error "
"Might be due to:"
"1. Broken or missing source file"
"2. Out of system memory"

Memory used 2.2gb of 3.3gb looking at resource monitor.

11. Start again and repeat 1 to 10 but this time select 'No Menu' Option and hence no chapters, burns fine to file and to disc.

12. Remove chapters from source and run PRODUCE again , select a menu but with no chapters and burn again, success again.

So using chapters causes the failure? or is it really a memory problem caused by adding chapters?

I just built this rig at Xmas to do my videos so please dont tell me I need 64 bit system and another 4 gig!

I tried to 'burn' to file instead of DVD but still have the same problem.
Hi Ed, I have the same problem but if I remove the menu/chapters it burns okay.
I also have the same problem and my machine is a clean Vista build so no other driver problems. I have 4 gig, a CoreI7 920 and AtI Radeon HD5850 graphics so I don't think I have a resource problem.
I am so pleased it's only a trial version I am running so I am going to evaluate Adobe now.
