Hi,

I am having nothing but problems with PowerDVD, so far I think its just poorly programmed. The online support takes days to answer anything and its just overall bad.

Was watching a blu ray and then it started freezing half way, quite annoying but instead of just freezing powerdvd it froze the computer, couldnt do anything.

I had to restart the pc by switching the power off and on, now when i place any blu ray into the drive it will freeze powerdvd making it useless once again.

Might request a refund because this is a joke, sort it out.

Also any solutions for my problem?

Thanks.
Problem Solved
When I install PowerDVD 7 (the CD i got with my graphics card) it gives me this SR Number DVD061204-08.
Quote: Dear Mark,

please help to clarify what version was bundled (PowerDVD 8 or 9)

As far as I can see from SR-Number you installed the retail patch on OEM Version. this may be the root cause for your issues

This looks like the problem! I patched it up and didnt check if it was a retail one or not.

Can you please point me in the right direction for the OEM patch?

Thanks

edit: it was bundled with 7
Quote: Dear Mark,

can you please update more info:

1. what HW was bundled?
2. SR Number of original Software

1. what HW was bundled? It came with my 4890 ATI graphics card, if HW means hard ware?
2. SR Number of original Software: DVD091117-01
Made a small mistake above, corrected below.

Is your PowerDVD a Retail product or bundles with HW?

Installed Version 7 with bundle and then used online upgrade for Version 9 Ultra
Quote: Hi Mark,

can you please update me the information about your exact PDVD 9 Version and SR that you have currently installed on your system?

Nothing to do with firewall and anti virus, currently have them uninstalled with same problem.
Getting same problem, if I dont get a solution within 24 hours going to demand a refund.
I purchased PowerDVD 9 Ultra to play Blu-Rays, however I get this same update message every time I try and play the blue-ray disc.

"You must update CyberLink PowerDVD to continue the playback on this content."

It wont allow me to play the blu ray disc at all, will keep asking for this update, doesnt matter if you click yes. Done it 100 times just doesnt work.

Any solutions?
