I have also experienced this issue. I followed most of the suggestions in this forum to correct my DVD burning issue with no success. I have Roxio and deleted it thinking it was a driver conflict and that did not work. It would start burning and then stop at various percentage levels. Windows would eventually have to force it to close.

I have an HP Pavillion e9280t with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with 9GB memory. It has an intel i7 920@2.67 GHz processors with a 750G HD. I am new to Power Director but I was able to work with it with less problems in Windows 7 than with Roxio.

I have finally been able to successfully burn DVD movie projects without crashing -> so far <- and here is what I do to accomplish that.

After any editing I save and close the project. I then shutdown the computer for a few seconds then restart it. Then I do not do any editing but open the project and go to Create Disk. By following that routine I have burned 11 DVD's (same project with various different edits) without a failure. If I do any editing - even after a successful burn - and try to burn a DVD it fails. I am not sure why that is.

It sounds crazy but it works for me. Just restarting my computer doesn't work for me and neither does just closing the program and restarting it.

Believe me I totally understand everyone's frustration with this issue and I hope that this information will work for others also. I also hope that it continues to work for me - even though it is not my preferred method of a burning process.
