since that update is faulty according to cyberlink, can't be used therefore v7.3 can't be updated to view blu ray etc because of content rights etc, so cyberlink wants you to purchase v9 ultra. i bought windvd pro 10 & couldn't be happier. i'll never go back to cyberlink, EVER!! good luck
so i saved the movie to my hdd & watched it using media player classic-home cinema! it's freeware & cyberlink can't even get their act together for $89.95 lmao. what a joke this software is.
so got star trek 2009 blu ray & powerdvd 7.3 won't play it as it wants to download the content update .5711 mentioned above, downloaded it & now of course, blu ray or standard dvd won't play in powerdvd at all ugh. why does this happen?? emailed tech support & all they did was repeat my ? back to me with no help whatsoever. i think i'm gonna dump this & go with totaltheater3. i'm sick of trying to find workarounds for products that only want more $$!!! i'm not going to upgrade to v9, i want what i have to work like it's supposed to. funny how a stand alone blu ray or dvd player never needs constant ccrs updates etc to play movies. CYBERLINK YOU SUCK BIG TIME !!!
i have windows 7 home prem 64 bit & powerdvd 7 works just fine, so where did you get the info that it's not supported other than from cyberlink cuz they're wrong lol. if you're trying to view a blu ray movie using trial version of powerdvd 9, won't work; have to buy it first!! only standard dvd will play in any cyberlink trial version!
is your gpu, graphics card driver up to date? might help if it isn't
blu ray suite came with my lg uh08ls10 & am using powerdvd 7.3.4617.0 to watch standard & blu ray movies fine, when i try to apply the update offered, powerdvd won't play movies any longerso i had to uninstall everything & reinstall ugh. i'm sure this update is for blu ray content etc but all the movies i've tried so far, play fine and this update corrupts powerdvd somehow. is there a workaround for this update? i turned off my a/v before installing, didn't matter. update is .5711......DVD090831-03.exe
