Thanks. I just installed the latest driver and it's still the same. I'm suspecting maybe my overclocking may have something to do with it - I'm resetting the cpu to test it out.
I just did another reinstall and now everything looks fine. However, I've imported a 16 min 720p clip into the timeline and divided that into 6 segments and added transitions between each. I find that when I click on different segments, it takes about 10 seconds or so before the program becomes responsive again. Is this normal?
The computer is custom-built. No virus scanners were running except avast, which wasn't scanning at the time. I've completely uninstalled/reinstalled the program twice already.
Regarding the stable build, how do I download previous versions?
Quote:Turn off the file processing for slow computers.
Already did that and it's still the same. When I opened the saved project I moved my mouse over to one of the titles and tried to right-click on it - it took a full 3 seconds before the right-click menu showed up. Everything is super slow. I'm going to try reinstalling PD8 and see if it helps.
Also I forgot to mention that I'm running Windows 7 64-bit...
I just got a brand new computer and installed PowerDirector 8 ultra. I created a project yesterday and everything was fine. However, today I returned to the project and found that everything was slow and laggy. Buttons would take upwards of 10 seconds to respond, and the previews (low-res) are all slow to play.
My spec:
Core i5
HD 5850 1GB
4GB G. Skill Ripjaws
The vidoes that I'm trying to edit are 1280x720, and are about 20 min long. I'd think that my new rig would be able to handle that.
I've used PowerDVD 8 Ultra for the past couple of years with no problem. Just a couple of days ago, I did a reformat of my computer and also replaced the Lite-On DVD burner that had broken down on me.
After the reformat and after installing the new LG GH22NP20 super-multi drive, I discovered to my horror that I'm no longer able to experience smooth playback of my DVDs. Below is a detailed description of my problem.
1. Video/audio stutters/freezes significantly during DVD playback using PowerDVD 8 Ultra and also PowerDVD 9 Ultra (both updated, but never installed at the same time).
1. Playing DVD from hard drive (i.e. ripped to computer) is OK - silk-smooth playback
2. Using WMP11 to play the same DVD on the SAME LG DRIVE is NO PROBLEM!
3. In conclusion, the problem only surfaces when I use PowerDVD 8 or 9 to play DVDs in the new LG drive. But the same LG drive works flawlessly when playing the same dvds using WMP 11.
Obviously, my first thought was that the new LG drive is faulty. But why would it then perform flawlessly when I play DVDs in WMP11? Any help would be appreciated!
