I have a always had a narrow horizonal band of picture tearing near the middle of screen when operating with nVidia HW acceleration turned on. It seems to show up on scenes with a lot of motion. Not present on stationary or slow moving screen.

With HW acceleration turned off there is no tearing playing the same scene sequence. CPU utilization goes from about 15-20% with HW acceleration off to <3% utilization with HW acceleration turned on.

Playing .m2ts HD video.

My equipment is Geforce 9400gt in an Intel Q6600 quad core, 4 GB of memory, running Win7 32 bit.

Running latest version of PowerDVD 10 Ultra but issue exist on all previous versions.
If these are true DVD format you should have an VIDEO_TS.IFO file and several .VOB files in VIDEO_TS folder .

If you double click on VIDEO_TS.IFO file Power DVD should open and play the directed .VOB files.

You can create a shortcut of the VIDEO_TS.IFO file and rename it for the movie/program you made.

Most TV tuner cards create .mpg or .ts files both of which are playable by PowerDVD.
under XP pro,

Loads up fine, starts movie fine. After few seconds the control bar and top bar times out and disappears as it should (was an issue in first PDVD release that it did not disappear on non-BluRay DVD from hard drive).

On patch 1714, it is difficult to get control bar (pause/play, stop, etc) to reappear by wiggling mouse to bring back controls. (using USB mouse)
Right clicking mouse button does bring up setup menu which has EXIT at bottom of list.

Reloaded patch 1705, and control bar works fine again.
Had to go back to patch 1705

With 1714 it is difficult to get boarder/controls to reappear after it times out. Looks like cursor has to be at top of screen.
PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D with 1601 patch
Operating System Win7, Intel 7500 duo core
Nvidia 9400gt
Nvidia driver 197.45

Any non-high def video played from hard drive has permanent boarder with control bar and mouse cursor showing (does not time out).
Opened via 'Video' tab. Either .mpg or .vob file.

The 'Movie', 'Video', and 'Music' tabs do time out.

Control bar/cursor does time out when high def movie is played from hard drive.

Same movie on regular DVD (non-HD) played from DVD drive does time out.

The up scaling is nice but it is ruined by distraction of control bar/boarder showing.
I have the same issue with 10 Ultra 3D. Worked fine with 9 Ultra.

Are you running HDMI through home theater amp switch?. If so try running HDMI directly into TV HDMI. Home theater amps add some HDCP verification delay. Depending on your TV you may have problem with HDCP passing HDMI/HDCP audio input to TV with TV Optical S/PDIF output as audio path to home theater amp. If you do, try enabling TV internal speakers.

Again, rev 9 Ultra had no problem with same home theater setup.
Sounds like your software (or card) is not HDCP complient.

HDCP (on HDMI port) requires handshaking between source and display.

Sometimes, particularly going through HDMI port on home theater amps there is too much delay and software driver times out waiting for response.

Try going directly to TV HDMI port from card to check if only a delay issue.
